Kaminski eye care is sad to announce that our beloved Tina will be leaving the practice after Labor Day to travel back and forth to Vegas to spend time with her new granddaughter, Addison! We are so happy for Tina and her family but we will miss her dearly and we know that our patients will too! As we adjust and train new staff, we will temporarily go back to our previous schedule and be closed on Thursdays for the next few weeks. We thank you for your understanding. As a send-off celebration we had a socially distanced team outing to top golf and Tina got the highest score!

Hello Everyone! We are happy to announce that, now that the stay at home order has been lifted, we are reopening our office with new policies starting this Friday, May 8. As stated before, the safety of our patients and staff is very important to us, so please share and understand the following new office safety regulations: With the exception of minors and those who require full time assistance, patients must come into office alone, any drivers or family members must wait in... their cars Masks must be worn full-time and CORRECTLY (covering nose and mouth) while in our office If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness including cough, fever, malaise, or loss of taste or smell, you must stay home and call to reschedule your appointment. We are more than happy to accommodate you in rescheduling. If you have been exposed to anyone who has, or has been tested for COVID-19 within the last 3 weeks you must stay home and call to reschedule your appointment. We must maintain social distancing (staying 6 feet from others) while in the office We are maintaining extra disinfecting measures and spaced scheduling as before. We look forward to seeing our patients again!

COVID-19 and your eyes: I have received several questions from patients and friends regarding COVID-19 and your eyes. Just like your mouth or nose, your eyes are open mucus membranes which means they are susceptible to infection. As has been advised, you should avoid touching your eyes, along with your entire face, without first properly and thoroughly washing your hands as directed. As far as contact lenses, these can be worn, but you must do a very thorough hand cleaning be...fore instilling or removing them. If your contacts make your eyes feel dry or irritated and will lead to more eye rubbing or touching, I advise wearing glasses at this time. Glasses can also act as a somewhat protective barrier but are not as effective as sealed goggles. Reports are showing that a small percentage of COVID-19 patients can also present with an associated viral conjunctivitis or "pink eye". This is why it is very important for anyone experiencing red eyes to call our office or emergency number before coming in as precautions may need to be taken for your protection and the protection of others. I hope everyone is staying safe, we can't wait to get back to seeing our patients again! And remember, if you need replacement contacts or glasses please contact us, small businesses need your support through this tough time. See more

As of this evening, the CDC has advised that we delay all routine eye care visits so our office will be following these directions until further notice. We will still be providing emergency and medical eye care so don’t hesitate to contact us if you are having problems, this is preferred so that you can avoid emergency rooms and urgent care clinics. As I mentioned before, I am more than happy to do phone consults with at risk patients who want to try to stay home. We will sti...ll be available for you to pick up glasses that you have already ordered and we can also order contacts or replacement glasses for anyone who needs them. We can also ship these items directly to your house. Our increased sanitation practices will stay in effect and our staff will be limited. This is a very tough time for all of us with a lot of uncertainty but after observing how this disease is playing out in other parts of the country and world, I feel that it is very important for us to work together to do anything that we can to reduce the spread and minimize the load on US hospitals. In one week, cases in Pennsylvania have gone from 10 to 96, and while this disease may have been downplayed early on because of its range in severity among different groups, the highly contagious nature of this is causing unthinkable conditions in hospitals around the world and in parts of the US. It is breaking my heart that we have to do this and I will really miss seeing patients daily. I am thinking of everyone and hoping you are all staying safe. Things are changing daily and I am meeting with staff tomorrow to discuss further action. Our hours may be reduced or emergency only over the next few weeks but I can be reached directly for any needs (eye problems, rx refills, contacts, vision changes, etc) at any time at 412-568-3248. This number should only be used after first trying to call our standard office number which is 412-835-4334. I know this situation is pretty terrible but I think the sooner we can come together and follow recommendations from experts, the sooner it will be over. See more

To our valued patients, As you have probably heard, cases of COVID-19 are now present in Allegheny and Washington counties. We are continuing to take every precautionary measure to keep our office sterile. Our staff has been educated on prevention strategies and advised to stay home if they feel they may have been in contact with someone who is ill or if they have any symptoms of illness. We are asking our patients to do the same. In order to protect our elderly and immunocom...promised patients, we ask that you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling ill or have been in contact with anyone who may have been exposed to illness. We also need to try to limit the number of people in the office so if possible please ask your family members to wait in their cars to reduce number of people in the office waiting room. As of now, we are still business as usual but things seem to be changing quickly so continue to follow for updates. As I see it, we are health care providers and if we can provide care and keep people with minor eye problems out of urgent cares and emergency rooms that is important at this time. As things change, we may drop to emergency visits only or a limited schedule to reduce office crowding. Any of our patients who are in the high risk category are encouraged to stay home, we are happy to reschedule appointments, order contact lenses to hold you over until you can come in, or conduct phone consultations. I do not mean for this message to cause any excess fear or anxiety but I do want to make sure we are doing our best to employ the strategies that are currently recommended by the CDC to protect vulnerable populations. Kaminski Eye Care is excited to announce that we are bringing on a new part-time associate so that we can better serve our patients with extended office hours. Dr. Hope Vinogradov will be joining us part time at our Bethel Park office. Dr. Vinogradov recently moved to Pittsburgh with her husband who is completing a podiatry residency. Dr. Vinogradov, who also goes by Dr. V or Dr. Hope, grew up in Kentucky and completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of ...Kentucky in Lexington. After graduation she went on to complete her Doctorate in Optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While in optometry school she served as a Neuro-optometric Rehabilitation Association Liaison, president of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, and Vice President of Student Government. After earning her Doctorate in Optometry, Dr. Vinogradov was accepted into an optometric residency program at the University of Alabama where she completed specialized training in pediatric optometry and binocular vision. While Dr. Vinogradov has a strong passion for pediatric optometry, she also has a lot of experience in managing ocular disease, fitting contact lenses, and surgical co-management. She has completed several impressive and diverse clinical rotations and she has presented several professional educational lectures on a variety of topics including optometric care in concussion, specialty contact lens fittings in infants, and neurologic disorders. Dr. Kaminski hired Dr. Vinogradov because she could tell when she met her that she had a similar passion for prioritizing patient care and using up to date, science-based, research to help each patient get the best visual outcome possible. In her spare time, Dr. Vinogradov and her husband enjoy hiking, kayaking, and spending time outdoors with their pups. She also loves riding her horse. We look forward to adding Dr. Vinogradov to our practice and we know that she will provide our patients with excellent, thoughtful, and thorough care. See more
