It's nice to run across little stories like this.
Visitors to Carnegie often ask about "The Civil War Room" in the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall. They are always surprised to realize it is just part of one of Carnegie's greatest attractions with its splendid Music Hall, eclectic Studio, nationally recognized Lincoln Gallery and a Library actively engaged with the community offering assistance and information systems - old and new - books and computers. While in Carnegie make sure you also visit Historical Society of Carnegie, PA Stay safe.

WHAT A GREAT TIME I HAD! The Unofficial All-Alumni Bishop Canevin Poor-Man’s Pot-Luck High School Reunion was cancelled but I went anyway because I was the ho...st. Wearing my official Bishop Canevin Photographer hoodie, I was the only one there. The reunion was to be held at the Historical Society of Carnegie, where I’ve volunteered for five years. Historical Society of Carnegie, PA As the official Mayor of Miniature Main Street -Carnegie Remembered I gave myself a tour of this world-famous diorama of Carnegie, Pennsylvania in the 1940s and 50s. It is located in the nationally registered Husler Building, also home to the legendary Honus Wagner Sports Museum. I answered my own questions as I went along. I enjoyed my enthusiasm and solid knowledge of this storied town. My pop-up toy store, Pappy & Zeke’s Curious Collectibles is situated on the first floor. Proceeds benefit the Historical Society. Visa and Master Card are accepted. Pappy & Zeke's Curious Collectibles Because it was a reunion, I did the normal things. I lied when I told myself how great I looked and had hardly changed. I went through our yearbook from 1970 and laughed at myself but made sure I got my picture taken with me holding it with an iconic photo featuring me. Timers are wonderful things. I asked myself what I’d been up to. I did that? Really?! How interesting. As with any reunions, there are situations to avoid. In reflecting on fifty years, when I encountered thoughts about the early ‘80s and early ‘00s, I pretended I didn’t see them. I quickly returned to locating photos I had taken that were published. I shelved questions I had for myself about the publication dates of my books including The Last Perfect Year, The Last Perfect Year Summer Snow about the ‘80s Pittsburgh Pirates’ and major league baseball’s cocaine scandal and Glass Eye dealing with the murderous mob battle for control of pornography and prostitution in Pittsburgh in the ‘70s. keenancarnegiebugle.com Reunion plans were scratched that included a wonderful buffet; rigatoni, fried chicken, halupke, pigs-inna-blanket, stuffed cabbage, salads, fresh breads and dessertsMarone! Desserts to die for! There was to be a full, free bar, with vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, scotch and bourbon, five wines, assorted craft beers, champagne and assorted soft drinks. It had to be scratched. I had a can of Sprite and a pack of cheese crackers, the ones with cheddar. It had reached that awkward point when while I was holding a rambling conversation with myself, I realized it was time to call it a day. I thanked myself for attending the reunion under the current conditions. Then a moment of silent prayer. To remember our lost classmates. Our lost friends. Our lost loved ones. I asked for God’s grace for us all. Turned off the lights. Locked the doors and walked down Main Street toward home. I had a great time. See more
