Know that the blackness you see is merely the result of your limited ability to understand, but there is something waiting for you just beyond the horizon. Something you can’t yet see. Something wonderful. Something perfect for you.

Our penalty has been paid and man’s bondage to sin is broken. Jesus has come, to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’ (Isaiah 49:9). He has released His Spirit to once again enter the heart of man and restore our fellowship with God. Jesus has reclaimed your right to choose who will reign within your heart.

Will everything work toward our good? Romans 8:28 says there are two conditions.

Truth. He wants ALL of you. And you might not realize it yet, but you really want ALL of Him. #HisLoveIsLife

I love winter in so many ways, but when it gets to February, I’ve had enough. Spring is just so amazing for so many reasons, but best of all, the hope and new life it offers. So parallel with our life with Godalways hope and new life found in Him no matter what time of the year. Amen? Happy first day of spring!

It isn’t witnessing external works that will give us the strength to stand, beloved. It’s grace, poured out for the moment, that causes buckled knees to rise. Strength and sustenance loosed by God’s hand restores, renews and enables. We don’t need to see more works; we need grace. We must learn to draw on the Spirit Jesus sent us to strengthen us in our weakness.

Don’t let this world get you down. Our hope is in Jesus and He is greater than anything you can face. If I stopped there, it might have sounded trite. But, Jesus not only suffered through the same circumstances we do, He even suffered death on our behalf. Death, sin, the enemy is defeated. He is greaterand He wants YOU to experience that greatness!

Jesus wasn’t after the perfect. He himself said it’s not the well who need a doctor, but the sick. You don’t have to have your act together to follow Jesus. If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We cannot earn our way into God’s house. We must simply receive the lavish gift of grace poured out to us through His Son. Our receipt of this gift occurs the moment we believe in Him.

December ushers in one of my very favorite seasons. Christmas has filled my heart with wonder for as long as I can remember. When we hung the lights, and holly and evergreens made their way inside our home, the joy that flickered deep within told me that this time of year was special. Allow your heart to open with the wonder of an expectant child. Approach Jesus with hope and anticipation. Beloved, Jesus holds the gifts you’ve been searching for all your life. As we draw closer to Christmas, I pray that hope and wonder is yours now more than ever.

Religion doesn’t save us, dear one. It enslaves. It convinces us to strive after something we can’t attain, and it wearies us under the weight of it. No wonder our enemy loves to shackle believers with religious bondage. Under a strict rule of law that denies love and quenches the Spirit, sin grows in secret. Focusing on the law will only increase its power. The law, without love to fulfill it, actually perpetuates sin.
