FRESHWORKS and SUNSTAR artists LENA CHEN and CHANDRA RHYME take to the covers of Pittsburgh City Paper We are so proud of both these artist’s recent performances with KST, and we are overjoyed to see them receive further recognition throughout Pittsburgh. It’s more about telling people’s stories, says Chen. I’ve participated in a lot of collaborative art projects with other sex workers and sex worker collectives that have to do with the experience of trying to work onli...ne in the post-FOSTA-SESTA environment, which is quite hostile, not just to the sex workers, but also to artists who are dealing with nudity or sexuality, or activists who are dealing with issues of gender or sexual violence. - LENA CHEN I like to express myself in a way where anyone can relate to what I’m saying or what I’m speaking, she says. I like to feel connected to the world, connected to each audience member. I’m very fun at times though I can get very deep with what I mean in my songs. - CHANDRA RHYME

Taking cues from modernist jazz, Pittsburgh-based, self-taught artist Thaddeus Mosley wields a mallet and chisel to rework salvaged timber into monumental biomorphic sculptural forms. Three of Mosley’s human scale works, Region In Suspension (1996), Oval Continuity (2017), and Branched Form (2017) have been cast in bronze and installed at Eastside Bond plaza in East Liberty. Join us THIS THURSDAY AT 6:00PM as we mark this significant installation of work by an artistic leg...end with a conversation celebrating Mosley’s body of work facilitated by art historian and curator Kilolo Luckett. This event is made possible in partnership with The Mosites Company. https://fb.me/e/4J6mBjm1c
