There is no doubt how trying 2020 was, in every way. No need to rehash the bad; we're glad to be ushering it out tonight. It may have been harder to find this year, but there were good things, from people of all ages, to give hope. One of those was KRP's own junior dragster Nathan Grill, turning his ride into a cancer tribute car. At our Ghosts, Goblins, and Gearheads event, he made a tribute pass to honor those who fought and are fighting the dreaded disease. Please note how racers, crews, and fans gathered to watch, and how everyone falls silent as he makes the run. We got together then, just like we got together to make it through 2020. It is our hope we all have a much more normal year in 2021, and wish you all a very healthy and happy New Year.
Here at KRP, we are a tight knit crew, like a family - even if we are occasionally dysfunctional (what family isn't? :D ). We view our racers and fans in the same manner, an incredibly huge extended family. On behalf of all of us, we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas.
Truth! And it doesn't matter what month the delivery comes, new parts will always feel like Christmas!
Happy birthday to another important part of our team, starter Mike Ritchie. He is always willing to step in and help do what it takes to keep the track running, working hard and stepping in where needed. Happy birthday, Mike!
Please join us in wishing the head of our Tech crew, one tough hombre behind the wheel, crew chief to his son, and Keystone hall of famer Don Ickes a very happy birthday!
Congratulation to Gregg Dahl for his world record run at Saturday's Test & Tune!!! Gregg made a pass of 7.62 on what is now the world’s quickest and fastest no-bar, street tire Harley-Davidson!!! He was able to back it up with a 7.64 but experienced a little breakage on the run, but we know Gregg will be back looking to go even faster!!!
Weather and traction were good today!!!
This week's schedule: Saturday, November 7 - Test and tune, open to all street and drag vehicles. Gates open 11am, racing noon to 5pm. $40 to race, $15 for spectators, kids 10 and under free. Let's hope this forecast comes true, looking like a great day! We are about out of race fuel, are out of alcohol, and will not be getting any in.
Sorry everyone, but with the amount of rain we have so far, and it's still raining, along with the cold overnight temps, we are cancelling tomorrow's test tune. Fingers crossed, forecast looks great for next Saturday, November 7.
Check out the Saturday final rounds from the 2020 GIS Automotive Pittsburgh International Dragway/Keystone Raceway Park Nostalgia Nationals. Sunday's final rounds are linked in the comments below! More action videos are coming from this event, Ghosts, Goblins & Gearheads, and AllSquad's Grudgement Day featuring the Street Outlaws...so stay tuned!!! https://youtu.be/wq2AW-AtXzY
