Join Synagogues Rising starting tonight at 6pm EST for nightly Hanukkah candlelighting on Zoom, hosted by a different member congregation each night. We'll recite the blessings together from wherever we are and celebrate the joy of the holiday, our communities, and our siblings from across the country. Register at https://www.tchiyah.org/collectivelight. Synagogues Rising is a network of seven synagogues across the US that integrate justice and spiritual practice at the heart... of their mission and are experimenting with models and frameworks for acting on our deepest Jewish values toward a vision of liberation for all. The network currently includes Hinenu: The Baltimore Justice Shtiebl, New Synagogue Project in DC, Tchiyah in Detroit, Kolot Chayeinu in New York, Kehilla Community Synagogue in Oakland, Kadima Reconstructionist Community in Seattle, and KT here in Philly. Three times the Torah tells us that the Israelites crossed the sea on dry ground. It is an enduring image, full of both contradiction and hope. And while they crossed, they reached into the sea walls and pulled out pomegranates to sustain them. Throughout this pandemic, this community has been dry ground, a source of sustenance and stability. As we journey through a second pandemic Passover, we encourage you to join us for a second night community seder. Sunday, March 28 from... 6-9pm EST It will be all-ages, interactive, and participatory. Full of song and story-telling. BYO Seder plate and dinner. We will provide the Haggadah. To learn more about the seder read the FAQ here: www.kol-tzedek.org/passover.

This morning, over 600 Jewish organizations, synagogues, and congregations signed this full-page ad in The New York Times: We say unequivocally: Black Lives Ma...tter. The Black Lives Matter movement is the current day Civil Rights movement in this country, and it is our best chance at equity and justice. By supporting this movement, we can build a country that fulfills the promise of freedom, unity, and safety for all of us, no exceptions. We are proud to support this movement and we know that there have always been Black Jews in movements for Black liberation and in Jewish communities. Our Jewish community must continue to rise up for Black lives, including Black Jews, with all of our spiritual, political and intellectual resources.
