Congratulations to the Lancaster CROP Hunger Walk that raised $35,748 to help hungry neighbors in Lancaster County. It directly benefits the Lancaster County Food Hub and those around the world through Church World Services. There were over 500 CROP Hunger Walks held virtually across the nation last year and Lancaster ranked 27th in the nation and 2nd in Pennsylvania. The Lancaster County Food Hub is pleased to welcome Paige McFarling as its new Executive Director, effective April 26, 2021. For nearly 20 years Paige has been a noteworthy leader in the nonprofit space. From volunteer board leadership and foundation management to executive roles in academic, arts and social services environments, she has worked to unite career, family, and a passion for service to the community. You may recognize her from her contributions as executive dir...ector at the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and most recently in helping the leadership team at Ten Thousand Villages grow a culture of philanthropy and fundraising program, a primarily new concept for the 75-year-old organization. Prior to her nonprofit work, Paige served as a marketing, communications, and operations leader in heavy duty industry and corporate banking. She holds a master’s degree in environmental science from Duquesne University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville. Paige and her family enjoy finding new outdoor adventures, supporting one another in artistic and athletic endeavors, and playing with far too many animals for one household. About her selection as the next Executive Director of The Hub, Paige stated To be chosen to serve our community and the work of the Lancaster County Food Hub is an honor. I am excited to work beside this passionate and committed team, ensuring we have a firm understanding of ever changing needs and make a purposeful impact for clients and community. Greg Kile, Board Chair commented "We are fortunate and excited to have Paige join the The Hub and look forward to collaborating with her on vision, and strategy to enhance and strengthen our programs to support the needs of the Lancaster Community during this unique time." Since 1947, the Lancaster County Food Hub has been a resource for the over 52,000 neighbors in need throughout our community. Through free distributions of fresh, healthy, and nutritious food and gently-used clothing, we fill the void for individuals and families struggling to get by. Additionally, our outreach program offers year-round support to the homeless and coordinates the Emergency Winter Shelter for homeless women and their children with the goal of connecting them to permanent housing.
