A message from our president: I begin by saying that I have a vested interest in this topic. I’m a partner in a food distribution company that does 70+ percent of its business with independent restaurants. However, I’m also a fan of great food, service and atmosphere. The same traits you find in many of our restaurants in Western PA. This is not a political statement. However, I felt the need to speak out about the disproportionate impact of the ban on indoor dining during th...e Holidays. I understand the shutdown. The government feels the need to do something and cannot effectively control families and friends from gathering in homes. They cannot effectively track private gatherings or enforce mask wearing more generally. So, shutting down restaurants becomes an easy precaution to legislate. Ultimately the numbers will go down only when we all take responsibility for our behavior in all settings. Thankfully, our industry is filled with people of strong character. They have been knocked down all year and feared this step. However, even now with the shutdown in place, the message we hear coming back is ok, one more hurdle to jump. How can I overcome this and save my business?" How can you support these neighbors? Order take out at least twice per week and from your local favorites. The independents are your friends and neighbors. They are the ones spending money in the community and supporting our economy. Start with them. Buy gift cards we all see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, to survive, our restaurants need cash now. Great for gifts or just for yourself. In many cases restaurants are providing incentives to buy now. Keep it up till the weather and vaccine return things to a semblance of order. We don’t know what steps will come next from the government but we do know that in another four months the combination of warmer weather and vaccine coverage will result in a great improvement to the situation. Attention Like many of you, we at Land & Sea are continuing to evolve through the current situation we all find ourselves in. As many of us are having trouble finding quality proteins and trying to social distance and avoid public spaces. We are offering a new approach. Typically our sales are done in case quantities which are not necessarily home consumer friendly. Therefore we have adjusted our approach and are now offering mixed boxes for sale. We will also offer some add on items. You will have options for a number of pick up locations and as well as possible home delivery. Please DM your email or phone number as well as your home area you would like services and we will have the appropriate rep reach out to you for appropriate pick up / delivery days for your area. Good Afternoon, As we navigate these uncertain times, we at Land & Sea wanted to make it a little easier for people to feel comfortable with a reliable and affordable food source. We are opening our doors to the public. Currently we are offering pickup this Friday, March 20th at our warehouse in Monroeville. We would ask for pick up of items to be between noon and 3pm. We would ask to cut down on communication if payment could be called into our office 412 372 0900 bef...ore arrival to run a credit card number. I will have all invoice reference numbers and invoice total’s to each that have placed an order Friday morning. Order cut off is this Thursday, March 19th by 9am as we cut all steaks, fresh seafood, and grinds to order.
