It was a wonderful morning to be at University of Pittsburgh for a site meeting. The projects are nearly complete! The lighted handrails will be installed soon to finish the lighting. Students won’t be back on campus for another couple of weeks, hopefully, they will enjoy the mid-block crossing. Mascaro Construction Company, LP did a great job bringing our design to life.... Thanks to the University of Pittsburgh for sharing this night image of the William Pitt Union site. The custom bench lights we designed, the Landscape Forms Ashbery, and BEGA flood lights all work together to create an amazing evening environment! Thanks to Tower Engineering for working with our design.

We are very proud that the Penn State Beaver pavilion and courtyard are complete. It came out to be a good space before the pavilion, and now is a great space! We worked hard to display the storm water management, the gutter, rain chain, collection basin, and trench drain all show how the water drains to the rain garden. The CAP Park over I-579 is becoming a real space! Standing over the highway on the structure HDR designed is a bit strange, but without it, we wouldn’t have been able to work with the rest of the design team to create this park. Come next year, there will be 3 acres of park space connecting downtown and the Hill District! #urbanpark #citypark #structuralpark #greeninfrastructure

Another great week of progress made on the University of Pittsburgh projects. It’s taking shape and feeling more like the design!

On this dreary Monday, we thought it would be nice to share some photos from last week at the University of Pittsburgh’s William Pitt Union and Bigelow Boulevard site! Once the rain chain is installed, the project will be complete! With the views, outdoor gathering space, green infrastructure, and connections, we’re proud to be part of this enhancement to Penn State Beaver’s campus.
