As the holidays are approaching, we need to take a step back and help others. There are lots of charities or volunteer work you can contribute to. I decided to pick one that is truly close to home and that is MCAP. For those of you who do not know what MCAP is I will begin to mention a little excerpt, but remember this is not nearly all of what they do. MCAP stands for Montgomery Child Advocacy Project as they are known throughout Montgomery County. They are "professional a...ttorneys who volunteer their time to advocate for child victims of abuse, neglect, and trafficking in the courts and social services agencies. MCAP (the organization) trains them to represent children in all the legal arenas and processes all of their background checks and clearances. MCAP then assigns them to cases referred to us by the District Attorney, the courts, the Public Defender, Mission Kids (forensic interviewer), or law enforcement."
