PREMIER LACROSSE LEAGUE ANNOUNCES 2021 SEASON WITH 43 GAMES OVER 11 WEEKENDS ... LOS ANGELES, CA. (January 14, 2021) - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced today the official launch of its 2021 season. The announcement noted the PLL’s return to a tour-based format, including 43 total games over 11 weekends spanning from June 4th through the PLL Championship on September 19th. "Our team is monitoring the evolution of COVID-19 and ongoing access to vaccinations, and we remain steadfast in working closely with our medical committee to deliver a safe path forward to our 2021 season, says PLL’s CEO and Co-Founder Mike Rabil. The ability to travel and perform in markets across North America is core to the foundation of the PLL, which emphasizes growth of lacrosse through access to the world’s best players. The announcement of the 2021 season includes tentpoles of Opening Weekend, All-Star Game, and a three-weekend playoff structure: quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship. Details regarding specific dates and cities for 2021 PLL weekends are still forthcoming. The PLL’s 2021 season will be produced and distributed on the NBC Universal family of networks. This marks the third season of partnership between PLL and NBC. "We believe our broadcast, cable and streaming package will continue to offer tremendous value by way of exposure and innovation through all screens and sizes, exhilarating our base and adding net new fans to lacrosse, says PLL Co-Founder and CMO, Paul Rabil. We have seen significant viewership growth in our first and second seasons, and look forward to delivering a world-class product in 2021 with our partners at NBC. The PLL recently announced a merger with Major League Lacrosse, leading to the addition of the PLL’s 8th lacrosse club - Cannons LC. The merger will also grow the existing player pool with former MLL players and add 20 years of archived games, champions, and statistical leaders for fans to consume. Details on how former MLL players will enter the league are forthcoming. Coming off of a fanless bubble in August of 2020, the league is working to determine a best course of action for ticketing, keeping player and fan safety top of mind. The PLL has created a link for those seeking updates regarding ticketing and season announcements as they become available.

More from the MCLA NAU Leads SLC D-II Preseason Poll SAN DIEGO After making their first appearance at the 2019 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, Northern Arizona has been picked to win the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) Division II race in 2021, according to the preseason coaches poll.... The Lumberjacks, which grabbed six of the 10 first-place votes, were 4-0 and ranked No. 10 in the country when the 2020 season was truncated. Following Northern Arizona in the No. 2 spot is UC San Diego, which snagged a pair of first-place votes. The Tritons also qualified for nationals in 2019 and were 5-0 last spring. Cal State San Marcos sits in the third spot, four points ahead of Loyola Marymount, which grabbed two first-place votes. San Diego rounded out the top five. Recognition for the hard work put in by previous rosters is always appreciated, said Northern Arizona coach Will Lawlor. We have key returners in leadership positions who have done a great job of welcoming a talented new class to Flagstaff. This team cannot wait to compete in 2021. 2021 SLC Division II Preseason Coaches Poll RANK TEAM POINTS 1st VOTES 1. Northern Arizona 115 6 2. UC San Diego 103 2 3. San Marcos 96 4.
