Hey Everyone Out There! I have a quick question for you. As many of you know I am an experienced leathercrafter and leathercraft instructor. And taking some inspiration from a dear friend, I’m wondering if I hosted a FB Live event on the topic of leathercrafting, would any of you be interested in watching? I’m thinking I could do one of two things, or both. 1. There are a good handful of things that most other leathercraft tutorials on YouTube don’t teach, which absolute...ly drives me crazy, and I would like to help with those....and 2. I could do a Q&A for any of your needs. If any of you have taken any of my many classes over the years, you’ll know we have fun and learn together. One of the things I love about leathercraft is that no one person can know it all because so many of us come up with our own ways of doing things. And for my part, I love to teach and I believe all knowledge should be free. So....would this be worth doing? You interested? 8/2/20 UPDATE: Hey friends! So this didn’t happen, and I am very sorry about that. I was super excited to get rolling with it and did a bunch of planning and research and then.....all of my computers died. Yup, that’s right, we got hit by some sort of alien tornado of electronic hell. My desktop blue screened of death, my laptop crapped the bed and my iPad flipped me off. I have finally received my new laptop and recently completed the arduous process of setting it up and getting all my files transferred. So now I’m back into planning mode to make this and a few other things happen. Stay tuned and wish me luck!

Testing out a carving pattern for a Disney cosplay piece. While I strive for screen accuracy as much as possible, it’s been my experience that Disney animators do not consider us crafters that will eventually be making their drawings come to actual life. . But it’s a fun challenge. (Also, sometimes they animate objects incorrectly. There’s a buckle on a certain character that has the buckle tongue facing the wrong way.). Custom Kepis Hat. (Foreign Legion Style) Rabbit fur lined. This hat was a surprising challenge. In theory it’s very simple, from a Leathersmith’s perspective, but there were a shocking amount of tiny problems to solve. I learned a ton on this project and I’m very thankful for it! I’m also pretty proud of how it came out! And I’m not sure I’ll attempt another fitted hat without having access to the persons head. Oops. @ Hershey, Pennsylvania
