Check out the 6th edition of the Senior Newsletter. There are tons of scholarship opportunities and some important announcements for your seniors to keep track of.

Last week was supposed to be the Winter PowWow, but several factors lead to its cancellation. That left us with some prizes to give, but no way to give them. In the spirit of altruism, we asked students to nominate peers they thought were well deserving of winning a prize. Their responses were nothing short of astounding. Last week, we asked staff and students to participate in the Lakeland Holiday Card - an opportunity to say thank you and Happy Holidays to those who have been sacrificing for us. We are so incredibly proud of our Lakeland family for the kindness they continue to show. Check out the Lakeland Holiday Card for some smiles and warm feelings!

In collaboration with our local professional organization, School Counselors of NEPA , Mr. Watters and I are pleased to share our comprehensive virtual calm room for all of our district students, staff and families. Please take advantage of the many resources that have been curated for you. On Friday September 25, Levi Fron, Class of 2022, became the newest member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. At 17 years old, he knew he wanted to be a part of something bigger and serve his country and community. Levi enlisted as an Automated Logistical Specialist and will receive 100% tuition paid to any university or community college of his choice in the state. He will be given paid job training and experience, all while attending high school and then college. Please congratulate him when you see him! I can't think of a better time to participate in this essay contest than an election year! The John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest for High School Students is officially open! We’re now accepting submissions from high school students for this year’s contest.
