Seen here is a photo of several employees from the Kissinger Pretzel Bakery, which for many decades was located in the rear of 127 East Main Street in downtown Lititz.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! From all of us here at the Lititz Historical Foundation.
In 1928, this Boy Scout troop posed for this photograph at the square in Lititz. The cup which is held by the boy in the center in the front was won in nearby New Holland, when the troop won best band in that town’s community parade that year.
Seen here is a photograph of our 1792 Mueller House which was snapped during the 1940s. What a peaceful photo!
During the 1930s, 109 North Broad Street served as the location for Bob Enck’s Garage. Many years later, next door was converted to what we know today as the Lititz American Legion Post 56.

Founded in 1790, Rothsville is situated east of downtown Lititz. This particular postcard was sent to Miss Lizzie Widmyer on October 6, 1908.

Ever hear of Cottage Row? Many decades ago, this area across from the square in Lititz was comprised of several mansions. and stretched nearly to the entrance of Lititz Springs Park. Recently, Lititz Historical Foundation board member Dan Gwinn put together this very comprehensive research project on that area. Check it out below!
On November 1, 1796, Gottfriend Henry Thumhardt, then warden of the Lititz community, drew up this loan for town resident John Philips for the amount of seven pounds and ten shillings. Today, Philips’ log home still stands, and is situated at 116 East Main Street in downtown Lititz.
Established in 1892 and once located at the corner of West Second Avenue and Woodcrest Avenue, seen here are employees from the Lititz Brick Yard, who helped manufacture thousands and thousands of bricks that helped build many homes in downtown during the late 1800s.

Recognize this house? While there has been some slight structural changes through the years, this building still stands today at 131 East Main Street - just a few doors down from the Lititz Historical Foundation!
Shown here on this black and white postcard are the many family members from around the community who gathered near the Littiz Train Station to welcome home the brave local soldiers who fought during World War 2.
