Liverpool Pinewood Derby Race

A little over 3 weeks away from the next race. We are getting ready for the big day and excited to see everyone. Make sure you get all those cars tuned up. We will see you all at the drags!!!

Hello everyone, I have some exciting news. We are going to have a pinewood derby race this spring. The dates are Saturday April 24th. Same time schedule as normal. Car inspections begin at noon and the race begins promptly at 1:00pm. We will however be a NEW LOCATION. We had to move our location due to the firehouse being shut down due to covid. The address is: 47 CJEMS LANE MIFFLINTOWN PA 17059... We also want our racers to come with masks and try to socially distance as much as possible. I'm not going to throw anyone out for no mask but would like everyone to respect everyone else at the race and try to make this as safe as possible. We also had to change the beneficiary of the race from the Liverpool Fire Company to the Liverpool Emergency Services. Our profits from the race will directly go to our ambulance service and help them with their expenses. So far the turnout looks like it will be a good one. I heard from people who want to come and ready for this race. Sounds like the turnout should be great. I will be adding an event on this website shortly. Get your cars ready. We are off to the races!!!

Right now as I write this email we would be in the middle of our fall race. I'm sitting bummed out about not having the race today. Combined with the rain in the forecast I think today is just going to be one of those days I just hope to get Through. I hope all of you are doing well and continue to stay virus free and healthy. Maybe with a little luck we can have our spring race. I will be talking to our committee and trying to figure our next years dates. The race is still subject to closure next year if this virus scare persists. At least we can plan for the best and also hope for it. Hello Everyone, It's been a crazy spring and summer. We were so lucky to get the spring race in when we did. It was only 2 weeks after our race and the state of PA was on shut down. At least we got that race in and I'm thankful for it. Today I don't think I have to remind everyone that the virus is still around and causing closers and delays for all kinds of events. We have seriously talked about the situation with the pinewood derby for the October 2020 race and it is wi...th great sadness that I have to announce the event has been cancelled due to this virus and the governor's restrictions, and the safety of everyone involved. We are still planning on having the spring 2021 race in March if conditions have improved so that we can have a large gathering of people in close proximity to one another. Hopefully things get better in the next six months and we can have a normal get together again. Sometime in January we will be deciding the dates for next years races.
