A powerful question by Martin Luther King Jr. that I ask myself all the time. Helping others makes the world go round. Smart man, smart words! Happy MLK Day everyone. Remember the activism of Dr. Luther King and his positive words that have taught me to help others in need.

Raised a farm girl, forever a farm girl! Who agrees? Having chicken feathers attached to everything even when you think you got them all off. Finding corn in the washer. Soybeans in the dryer. Hay in your bra.... Painting your nails to hide the dirt when you are going out in public. Being in amazing shape without a gym membership. Sweeping the kitchen floor three times in one day and STILL finding hay and mud. Having really, really weird tan lines. Going out of town to pick up equipment and calling it vacation. Finding hay in your hair. Working on holidays because the farm never closes. Buying boots is a more complicated decision than buying a car. Thinking you are getting really tan but then it's just dirt that you wash off in the shower. Realizing all of your clothes are stained. Always spending more money on your animals than on yourself. Taking a 'vacation day' because it is raining. Spending more time with your livestock than your significant other. Redefining romantic to be a ride together in a tractor or sharing sandwiches in the truck. Wearing men's work clothes because there aren't a lot of women's work clothes! Sleeping inNEVER. Forced to be a morning person. Credit: PinkTractor.com Comment with some more funny farm girl thoughts!

My oldest son, Joe, takes care of the beehives and gathers the honey. One day, my son decided that he wasn't going to attach his head gear to his body gear. So, two little angry bees got into his head gear... the picture explains what happened next. My mother senses came to the rescue to try to help but I ended up stabbing myself with the epipen and not Joe. Ouch! It was a bit crazy at the time but a funny story to tell. I have to say, I think Joe learned his lesson! What are some of your home remedies that you swear by to help bee stings? Share below!
