If you are giving your sheltie babies Interceptor Plus STOP now before you loss that loved one.... I have spoken to several people that had shelties on Interceptor plus. They have lost them do to liver functions failure, internal organs shutting down. After doing some research I have found that milbemycin oxime is in the family of Ivermectin. Is milbemycin oxime the same as ivermectin? Milbemycin oxime (Interceptor, Ciba-Geigy) is in the same drug family as ivermectin and is also not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of canine demodicosis. Can a dog overdose on milbemycin oxime? Dogs with the MDR1 mutation can have serious neurologic reactions to milbemycin oxime if medication is used at a dose higher than the labeled heartworm preventive dose. Toxic reactions (as in overdose) include dilated pupils, drooling, incoordination, fever, seizures, coma and death. What is the side effect of praziquantel? Headache, dizziness, stomach pain, nausea, tiredness, weakness, joint/muscle pain, loss of appetite, vomiting, and sweating may occur. These side effects are usually mild and temporary and may be symptoms of your parasite infection and/or the dying parasites. DO NOT GIVE ANYTHING WITH IVERMECTIN, AS IT WILL KILL YOUR HERDING BRED. We are sending our Love and understand if you do not have your babies anymore.
