In 1986, the Statue of Liberty, an incredible symbol of independence, was undergoing extensive restoration. This restoration project offered a perfect segue to the Mack Freedom Series (often incorrectly referred to as the Liberty Edition), which featured an extensive warranty program that offered buyers freedom from repair costs. The following are excerpts from the introduction of this limited-edition Mack program. The Mack Freedom Series - limited to a maximum of 200 units... including its Ultra-Liner cab-over-engine and Super-Liner II conventional models, featuring an exclusive, comprehensive warranty and special graphics that subtly reflect the world’s greatest symbol of freedom the Statue of Liberty. The Freedom Series offers virtual freedom from repair costs for 3 years/300,000 miles. Their exclusive warranty covers parts and labor on everything except tires and consumables for the full term, along with Mack’s standard 5 year/unlimited mileage coverage against cab rust perforation. Mack established this special program with the cooperation of more than 100 participating suppliers, and it clearly demonstrates confidence in the quality of the product. Customers also have the freedom to specify certain options, such as a choice of engines in 350, 400, 450 and 500 horsepower configurations; several rear axle/bogie capacities and suspensions; Level III or IV cab interior trim; and a variety of sleeper compartments on Super-Liner II models. The Mack Freedom Series limited edition vehicles represent exceptional value for some of the most demanding customers in the industry. Their distinctive blend of style, comfort and performance is just the beginning. Their unmatched warranty protection and low life-cycle cost prove the profitability of Mack’s integrated Balanced Design philosophy and keep the spirit of freedom alive mile after mile.

Flashback Friday to the 1970’s #AD Take your tried and true workhorse and give it a new modern look! You couldn’t help but to be happy with the performance and dependability of your B-model, yet the years and miles had taken their toll. A new look was just a part number away. The B.C.R. This kit and 60 hours of labor modernized your Mack. The kit even included the B.C.R. emblem for the left cowl panel. This was one of many Mack innovations that have revolutionized the industry to date!

: 1945 Mack NM8D This 6-ton cargo truck was primarily used to move artillery, supplies and troops in nearly all WWII theatres. 7236 NM models were produced in varying configurations. The Mack Museum obtained this NM-8 in 2012 from Fort Indiantown Gap in Pennsylvania after trying for approximately three years. Shortly after arriving at the museum, volunteers began the overwhelming task of restoring the well-worn truck. In 2019, the near completion of the re...storation allowed the NM to be displayed at World War II Weekend in Reading, PA where it was very well received. The massive truck is powered by a 707 C.I.D. Mack gasoline fueled engine, a five-speed Mack transmission and Mack transfer case. We are not sure if this truck ever left the USA, there are conflicting details. The production date fell after the surrender by Japan but the engine in the truck is identified by a plate written in French. For now, the truck will be displayed and operated as a tribute to those who have made sacrifices for our freedom.

The proactive management of maintaining a healthy work environment is evolving as we continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 virus and other health-related topics this season. Our first priority is the well-being of our Museum staff. Based on guidance from external organizations, such as the CDC, we are temporarily closing the Museum for tours. This is consistent with other Mack facilities where external customers and visitors enter our facilities. During this closure,... the museum staff will focus our efforts on the request queue. We have quite a backlog of information requests in our queue that require attention. We thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we strive to maintain a healthy workplace, while continuing to support our activities, supporters and friends.
