Macungie Police impersonation. Our department received several calls from victims stating they received calls from (610) 615-1992. Some of the calls were answered by a male identifying himself as Sergeant Travis Kocher of the Macungie Police Department. The male told one person they had warrants for missing a court case. The victim ended the call before instructions or directions were given. It is believed the call was an attempt to scam money from the victim. The phone numb...er has a voicemail set up with a recorded message indicating it is Sergeant Kocher of the Macungie Police Department and a message should be left. The voice recording is NOT Sergeant Kocher. These calls are NOT AUTHORIZED by the Macungie Police Department and caution should be taken if you receive a call from this number. If you have any questions we can be reached at (610) 966-2222 or through Lehigh County Communications at (610) 437-5252. Please forward this to friends and family. See more

On 3/8/21, the Macungie Police Department responded to two (2) vehicle thefts. Both were Ford F250 pick up trucks from the mid 2000 era. One truck was recovered shortly after the initial report was received. The recovered vehicle was missing a catalytic converter. The second truck has not been located. MPD learned that nearby jurisdictions also had thefts of catalytic converters from trucks of the same era. Please report any suspicious activity to MPD immediately. If you own a mid 2000 era Ford F250 you may want to garage your vehicle, if possible, or park in well lit areas overnight.
On Friday, January 15, 2021, from 7:00 am to about 5:00 pm, Cotton Street will be closed for bridge work. This will be a 1 day closure. Cotton St runs from S. Chestnut to Church St. Plan to use alternative routes tomorrow.

The snow emergency declared on Tuesday 12/16/2020 has been lifted.
Macungie Police Department thanks Patricia Shuhler for the wall art. It definitely adds a little to our plain wall.
The Borough of Macungie has declared a snow emergency beginning Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 3:00 PM. This snow emergency will remain in effect until further notice. All vehicles are required to be removed from posted snow emergency routes.
The Grinch made his way into Macungie and once again our night shift Officer nabbed him. We plan to escort him through Macungie Borough TODAY from Noon-1 PM so he can see first hand the smiling faces our residents wear. The North Pole Police Department advised us Santa Claus is in our neighborhood. He will be driving around our town between 9-10 this morning on a firetruck. The North Pole Police Department cleared Santa's stay to help us change Grinch's heart. Santa will j...oin the parade at Noon. Please watch for slow moving vehicles on side streets.
