Drinking and eating can be funny if done with civility during this pandemic. Some local bars put tongue firmly into cheek in making up their menus in order to s...ay they are not happy but will comply in order to stay open. One Meadville bar is trying to find a way to repair the damage done from their menu which went beyond just bad taste to hate speech. We, the owners at Mad Hatters, have a big heart for every person, regardless of race, origin, tastes, religious beliefs or gender identities. As such, we issue a profound apology for the menu posted early. It was taken down because it didn't comply with our values. There is no justification for it and we're dealing with the consequences. We've decided to close down our late night weekend service in order to help curbing the latest outburst of covid cases linked to bar activity.
