Pennsylvania now allows dentists to treat patients who require "necessary" care. Makefield Dental is now able to provide the following services: Fillings Crowns (caps) Emergency care Non-surgical periodontal treatment... Periodontal maintenance We are not providing elective services including: Prophylactic cleaning Veneers Tooth Whitening We are strongly encouraging patients who are over 65 or who have compromised health (including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart, liver or kidney disease or COPD) to weigh the risk of visiting our office now or staying at home and deferring treatment. Our goal is always to keep our patients healthy, so please call us if you'd like help deciding on the risks vs. benefits of scheduling an appointment. Visit the COVID-19 Updates and Guidance tab on our website for more information on how Makefield Dental is working to create a safe environment for our patients and staff.
Makefield Dental recently added H13 Medical grade HEPA air purifiers to each treatment room. These devices can remove 99.97% of air-borne particles from each room in 15 to 30 minutes. More importantly, we've located the purifiers to draw the air away from everyone in the treatment rooms and towards a far wall, where they are eliminated. This minimizes the risk of cross contamination between patients placed in the same room. Makefield Dental has been a leading innovator in Patient Safety and Dr. Sibner is a national authority on the subject. For more information on how Makefield Dental is protecting patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, visit our website and click on the COVID-19 tab or give the office a call.
The New Normal New dress code for the office includes N95 masks, face shields and disposable gowns. PPE stands for Personal Protective Equipment. They're designed to keep us safe. Our office protocols -- how we use them -- are designed to keep our patients safe. For more information on office safety during the COVID-19 crisis, view the COVID-19 section of our website or give us a call.
On Friday, May 8th, the PA Department of Health changed their guidance on dentistry from "Emergency" only care to "Necessary" care. We can now see patients who need treatment in order to prevent future problems or to prevent relapse of problems. If you were diagnosed with a cavity previously, we can treat you so the cavity doesn't grow to become larger, perhaps causing tooth fracture or nerve infections. If you were diagnosed with periodontal disease in the past, we can do ...periodontal maintenance to prevent the disease from recurring. The definition of "emergency also changed. Previously, we could only see patients that were bleeding, in intractable pain or had a broken tooth causing significant irritation to the tongue or checks. Now, we can see patients with the usual range of problems: chipped teeth, loose crowns or fillings or low-level sensitivity/discomfort. If you have a diagnosed problem or suspect you have a problem like the ones discussed above, give us a call!

Our office focuses on our patients’ comfort and overall health -- not just their teeth. We are proud that’s the most frequent reason newly referred patients list as the reason for switching to Makefield Dental. Thanks for the review, Tony!
Did you know that people who drink 3 or more sodas per day are 62% more likely to have tooth decay? Ditching soda will not only help your teeth, but it will help your health overall. Diet sodas, which contain man-made sugar substitutes may be responsible for subtle changes in your health. If you have questions about your smile, get in touch with us! You can send a message or contact us through our website.
We think our patients deserve a 10 star rating too! If you’re looking for the same type of caring and compassionate dental care as this patient, send us a message!
Last December, Dr. Sibner attended the inaugural IHI forum on Dental Safety and Quality. Over the next year he developed and presented a half-day lecture on the subject. His course is the first in the country to be presented to dentists with small dental practices, which account for roughly 80% of dental services.... Last week, Dr. Sibner attended the second annual forum and was elected to the Program Committee that will develop next year’s IHI Safety and Quality forum. Makefield Dental continues to be in the forefront of dental care and that includes caring for our patients! If you have questions, concerns or comments on Safety and Quality issues in dentistry, please let us know!
Did you know that Dental Implants date back over 600 years ago? The earliest known Implants were performed by the Ancient Mayans using shells and hammers. (Ouch)... We are certainly glad the technology has evolved and are proud to continue the tradition of restoring smiles. Today’s implants are made of titanium or zirconium and have a 10-year success rate of over 90%. Missing a tooth has more impact than just a gap in your smile. If you are interested in completing your smile, send us a message, and we’ll set you up with a free consultation.
Thanks Brittany! We make every attempt to make our patient visits less stressful. If you’d like to experience the same pleasant experience as Brittany, send us a message to schedule your appointment today.
