Behind the Build! The connection from this driveway to the backyard used to be a steep grassy hill. The lack of hardscape made walking through the yard difficult, posed a few safety hazards for this homeowner and their grandchildren, and the pool frequently had grass clippings floating in the water. ... Transformation Thursday! Preserving the view from the house to the stream in the woods was a top priority for this homeowner in Bear Creek Village. They wanted an integrated, open outdoor space for cooking, dining, entertaining, and more! We helped them create a custom 3D design video that let them see an expansive multi-level deck design that visually brought their first floor space outdoors. This allowed the Halis family to see exactly how welcoming and cozy their new deck... could look year round! To build their vision, we removed the old painted wooden deck and stairs-far too much maintenance!! Next we designed the paver entryway to include one step leading to the main deck with LED ground lighting that illuminates some of the native trees. The centrally located C-shaped stone bar serves as the perfect focal point on this new deck and provides plenty of space for cooking, dining, and entertaining. A low voltage LED lighting system, combined with a fine black texture aluminum and stainless steel cable railing offers the illusion of an even larger deck area while protecting the stream view. By using materials such as stone, aluminum, stainless steel cable, and composite decking we significantly tapered the maintenance required leaving more time for our homeowners to entertain with family and friends.
