Mechanicsburg Wrench Drop

We mentioned in our last update that our desire is to expand the New Year's Eve event program and activities. The expanison effort will require more help to implement the activities envisioned. It is time for a Wrench Drop Update. The good news is that we finished the year with a small profit. The profit was possible by the great response from the merchants and residents of the Mechanicsburg Area with your sponsor donations (7 merchants), gift certificates (17 merchants), commemortaive wrench sales (37 wrenches & 3 wrench sets) and support of our first annual chicken barbecue. The Wrench Drop would not be possible without your support. Thank you so much! The program... so far for this year is: participate in Jubilee Day June 17th and our 2nd annual chicken barbecue on Sept 11th. We hope to bring new events into the program on New Year's Eve to add variety and enjoyent to the activity. We will keep you posted as time progresses. We are sad to report the passing of our long time DJ Robert Arbogast in January. His great talent and friendship will be missed. Rick Murray, South Mountain Entertainment, will be our DJ this year. Welcome Mr. Murray. This is it for now. I have met with our advisor to investigate changes to the program for this year so stay tuned.

Happy New Year to all. I hope that your New Years Eve activity was enjoyable. It was unfortunate that we had to cancel the Wrench Drop this year. However, every challenge has a silver lining. My silver lining this year was that I spent New Years Eve with my family for the first time in 17 years. 2021 will be better. The next challenge is closing out the year. A few gift certificates and wrench orders remain to be picked up. We have 60 wrenches and 3 wrench sets remaining for... purchase. Now the planning begins for the 2022 event. Hey Folks, the wrench sales are picking up - only 67 left and 4 wrench sets with wrenches from 2005-2021. Individual wrenches sell for $8 and each set for $120. You can order wrenches from our web page at wrenchdrop.org. Due to recent issues with shipping wrenches locally through the postoffice, I recommend that you pickup your wrench at my residence in Mechanicsburg.
