Quarantine fact of the day: Antifreeze is an additive which lowers the freezing point of a water-based liquid. An antifreeze mixture is used to achieve freezing-point depression for cold environments. Common antifreezes increase the boiling point of the liquid, allowing higher coolant temperature. Antifreeze comes in fluorescent green, red, orange, yellow, or blue to aid in identification. Antifreeze breaks down over time and can cause corrosion that will clog your heater an...d radiator. It’s recommended to do a flush/exchange every 30,000 miles to avoid system break down and overheating. Visit www.meineke.com to find your locally owned and operated Meineke near you! Quarantine Fact of the Day: 2-wheel alignments, also known as a front-end alignment, means the technician performs the service on only the front wheels, which may include a camber, toe, and caster adjustment. 4-wheel alignment refers to adjusting all four wheels, which is typically required on most modern vehicles. This may include a front toe and caster adjustment, just like the front end alignment, while the rear wheels receive a toe and camber adjustment. If the rear wheels are out of alignment and only a front end alignment is performed your vehicle will still have problems. Make sure you ask if a 2 wheel or 4 wheel alignment will be suit your needs. Visit www.meineke.com for you local center and support small business. Stay safe and we will see you soon.

Quarantine Fact of the Day: Brake pads and brake shoes are not the same. While they both are friction material used to stop a vehicle, the main differences between brake pads and brake shoes are: Positioning - Brake pads and brake shoes are positioned differently in their braking system. Brake pads are placed inside a caliper which surrounds the brake disc and brake shoes are placed inside the brake drum. Wear - Brake shoes typically last much longer than brake pads. Usual...ly they are positioned on the rear axle and undertake a much lower proportion of the braking work. Make sure your brakes are working as they should with a Meineke FREE Brake Inspection. We hope you are staying safe and look forward to helping you when you are next needed. Visit www.meineke.com to contact your local center. Like our page to stay updated with your Fact of the Day.

Quarantine Fact of the Day: Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer. Families fire up the grill, flock to the lake house or look for sales at stores (if they are open). Truly though, Memorial Day grew out of grief and tragedy wrought by the Civil War and is a day for honoring and mourning the military personnel who died while serving our great nation. Remember to take at least just a moment for those that paid the price to ensure our freedoms. Make sure you like our page to stay on top of all your Meineke needs and stay safe.
