Coach Pixler has co-directed the Mercersburg Academy Summer Programs soccer camp for the past four years. She has been coaching soccer for nearly 15 years and is head coach of the girls soccer program and a member of the arts faculty at Mercersburg Academy. Prior to coming to Mercersburg, she coached and taught at Hanover High School outside of Richmond, Virginia. She grew up playing soccer club teams in Northern Virginia. I really enjoy coaching developing players in our su...mmer camp and working with the incredibly talented coaching staff, says Kristen. Every year, we see major skill development in our players and we have a ton of fun on our beautiful campus. Kristen had the opportunity to travel to England on a school trip with 13 players to visit five stadiums and watch three English Premier League games. I have been a Tottenham Spurs fan for more than 15 years, she adds. Arsenal makes my skin crawl. Go Spurs, go Storm! #MburgSummer

Coach Kerr is Mercersburg Academy’s head boys’ varsity lacrosse coach and teaches history and religion. He spent 13 years at Kent Island High School in Stevensville, Maryland, where he taught social studies and was the head boys’ lacrosse coach for seven seasons. As head coach, Kerr’s Buccaneers compiled an 89-24 record, four regional championships, and four state semifinal appearances. He coached 24 future college lacrosse players. Tim served as an assistant coach and defens...ive coordinator at Washington College (his undergraduate alma mater) in Chestertown, Maryland, for six seasons, where he taught a graduate course in history and served as an academic advisor. He has also coached at the international level as an assistant for the Finnish national lacrosse team, coaching in the World Games and European Championships. Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Washington College and a master’s degree in administration and leadership from the University of Phoenix. #MburgSummer

Kelly Dowling joined the Mercersburg Academy faculty in 2015. She is the assistant director of the Burgin Center for the Arts and the lead designer and production manager for all performance events in the building. She previously served as managing director and a company member of the Baltimore Shakespeare Factory; taught drama and technical theatre at Winters Mill High School in Westminster, Maryland, and the Madeira School in Langley, Virginia; and worked as technical direc...tor of the Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater in Washington, D.C. Katie Vickers (Mercersburg Class of 2006) is an American artist and a graduate of PARTS (2014) and of the Ohio State University (2010). She has danced for and with Daniel Linehan (USA), Albert Quesada (SP), Martin Nachbar (GE), Benjamin Vandewalle (BE), Vera Tussing (GE), Rósa Omarsdóttir (IS), Kendell Geers (ZA), Thierry de May (BE), and as a guest artist for the Cullberg Ballet’s ‘Figure a Sea,’ choreographed by Deborah Hay. Albert Quesada is a Spanish dancer and choreographer. He trained in Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Brussels after he studied philosophy and multimedia engineering. The exploration and translation of musical structures and compositions into choreography and the invitation of an audience to perceive and listen to the proposed works stands at the heart of Albert’s choreographic work. #MburgSummer

At Mercersburg Girls’ Lacrosse Camp, Coach Ahlgren and her staff of college players will help you develop your skills and prepare for your next level. Kristin is the varsity head coach at Mercersburg Academy and a current club coach for Renegades LC, and has coached at many lacrosse camps across the country. The daily camp schedule will include skill work, small-sided games, full field games, film review, and a fun variety of evening events. Campers will have opportunities to... choose a specific skills station each day, and they will work directly with a college player who will lead their team in the evening scrimmages. Mercersburg Girls’ lacrosse camp focuses on improvement in both individual skill and team play. We love playing lacrosse and coaching, so our goal is to pass that love of the game on to our campers! All levels are welcome. #MburgSummer
