Merry Meet LLC 01.12.2020

Merry meet, Everyone! I hope that Everyone has had a productive week, a promising week, a positive week. As for myself, this past week has been most of those things. My Graduate classes will be back in session next week so I have had a busy week buying books, getting a head start on my reading assignments, and dealing with Financial Aid/es. I have also won a long-fought battle with the company that busses my youngest to and from school. Most of the missing Yule and Christmas ...gifts have suddenly begun to resurface from the labyrinthian quagmire that is the US Postal Service. And while my family's personal finances are no better, there are some promising opportunities in the works. While 2020 has been an utter mess, 2021 seems to be starting out fairly well, leaving me hopeful about my personal life. As far as my spiritual life is concerned, I have no complaints. The Shoppe is going well, busy, productive, and full of positive energy and awesome vibes. And while the Shoppe is part of my personal life, it is really a huge part of my spiritual life. Merry Meet, LLC gives me the chance to be me, a Witch, a High Priestess, a Psychic Medium, a Teacher, a Healer, a Helper, and a Seannachie. I wear many masks in this world but not all of them are for hiding. In pagan culture, masks and face paint are a way to take on the form of the God and the Goddess. Masks and face paint are a way to transcend the ordinary and elevate the Human form, to transform for even a brief time, to the Elemental Spirit. This is why I chose the song "Spodr Manu Augumiu" by the Latvian group Tautumeitas. The title translates to mean "Polish my Body," and the song speaks about transforming the Body and Soul by not only connecting with Nature through prayer but connecting with Nature by physically touching the world around Us. The video shows the Ladies of Tautumeitas wearing masks, crowns, and face paint, to connect more deeply to Nature and the Elemental Spirit. Unfortunately, I was not able to find an English translation of this song, but I was able to find an interview with one of the vocalists, Asnate Rancne. Rancne comments that the song "tells how darkness and all the bad things" that have happened over this past year are now behind Tautumeitas." She continues by adding that "people become brighter and stronger through rituals and things that inspire them" and for the group, they seek inspiration in Latvian Folklore. Rancne mentions that she hopes that this song will inspire the listener to find "inner strength and open up the huge creative potential that lives in us," adding that "it's especially important for everyone to find that inner light within themselves." And I absolutely agree with her on that point, find Your inner light and shine. Until next week, merry part and blessed be.
