Messiah University Department of Nursing

Meet Dr. Kristi Barbato, DNP, CRNP, FNP-C, a vibrant new addition to the Department of Nursing team! Kristi comes to us from Beaver Falls, PA. She has a dual role teaching OB and Pediatrics for undergraduate nursing and several graduate nursing courses in our DNP/FNP program. Kristi completed her BSN, MSN, and DNP/FNP at Robert Morris University. In addition, she also completed a Master of Social Work at Widener University, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a Bachelor of Social Work. Kristi worked at UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics in Allison Park for six years and will now transition her family nurse practitioner role to UPMC Annville Family Medicine. Kristi has two sons in college. We are thrilled to have Kristi on board!

BIG NEWS! We are celebrating the announcement that our DNP programs received initial accreditation from CCNE. Congrats to the DNP faculty and staff for their hard work to earn this prestigious designation.

Nursing faculty and staff celebrate the class of 2020 graduates on an AMAZING outcome....unofficial 100% pass rate on the NCLEX. This is the second year in a row for a 100% pass rate! Congratulations to all of the 2020 graduates!!
