Butler Baseball Wins by Elijah Osche On Tuesday night the Butler Boys Baseball team defeated Seneca Valley 7-4 at Michelle Krill Field Historic Pullman Park... - completing the game sweep of the Raiders and putting the Golden Tornado in 2nd place in the WPIAL AAAAAA section. Madden Clement started on the mound for the Golden Tornadoes as he pitched solid for 4 2/3 innings while striking out 7. Collin Patterson had two hits including an inside the park home-run, and two RBI's on the night. Brady Gavuala also added two hits and two RBI's himself. Mac Schnur came in for relief in the 5th, then the rain came and it came fast and hard. Mac got 2 outs and then there was about a 30 minute rain delay in between innings. The rain continued to the rest of the game but calmed down enough that they could continue and earn the win. At least one person wasn't bothered by the rain and that person was Schnur. He said after the game "the rain didn't effect me so much and that he was excited even when it started raining a little harder. Schnur did get into a little of a jam in the 6th inning when he gave up a few hits and walked in a run but with 2 outs he threw a nasty curve ball outside of the zone that the batter could not resist swinging at getting Butler out of the inning. The win was a big one for the Golden Tornadoes as they improved to 11-5 and moved into 2nd place. They have 1 non conference game left against Moon this coming Wednesday May 12th at 7 pm at Michelle Krill Field Historic Pullman Park. Come watch these talented kids play and have some fun at the best baseball stadium around located right here in Butler.
