Trash Collection - Memorial Day Monday, May 31, 2021: Due to the Memorial Day Holiday, trash collections will be delayed one (1) day. Monday customers will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday customers will be collected on Wednesday and so on for the remainder of the week through Saturday.

Power Outage Scheduled for Woodland Hills Area A planned power outage that will affect residents in the Woodland Hills area is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 8 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. in order for crane usage at the Turnpike Bridge replacement project.

Attention Residents Ann Street Re-Paving PennDOT has notified the Borough they will begin re-paving Ann Street. Milling will be performed on May 24 through May 27 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Paving will be performed June 1 through June 4 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dates and times may vary due to weather conditions. Expect traffic delays and temporary no parking during this time.

No Trash Pick Up Monday, February 1st - Penn Waste routes will not be operating on Monday, February 1st, 2021, due to inclement weather. PennWaste is planning on operating on Tuesday, February 2nd, and running on a holiday schedule for the remainder of the week. Due to the potential severity of the storm, Tuesday pickup may need to be cancelled as well. We will post any further updates once we have them.

Heating Assistance Program to Open Nov. 2 Residents who struggle with their home heating bills can apply for assistance from the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) beginning Monday, Nov. 2. LIHEAP is a federally funded program that helps individuals and families pay their heating bills through home heating energy assistance grants. It also provides crisis grants to help in the event of an emergency or if a resident is in danger of losing his or her heat due t...o broken equipment, lack of fuel or termination of utility service. The income eligibility guidelines for LIHEAP are set at 150% of the federal poverty income level. For example, the income limit for an individual is $19,140; for a couple, the limit is $25,860; and for a family of four, it is $39,300. Residents may apply for LIHEAP online or by contacting the County Assistance Office in their county of residence. The 2020-2021 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is now open! Tribute to Veterans Event Representative Mehaffie is holding a Tribute to Veterans Event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Lower Swatara Volunteer Fire Department, 1350 Fulling Mill Road in Middletown. This year, the event will be held in a drive-through style. A bagged lunch and commemorative pin will be presented to each veteran who pre-registers. Registration is required.
