So though we all still hurt tremendously from losing Jeremy far too soon, we wanted to share a story of just how he and his legacy continues to live on here at MUOT Anna Fostik, a current MUOT 5th year, worked with Jeremy in the library here on campus. She had an instant connection with Jeremy as almost everyone who ...Continue reading

The excellence in FW Award is presented to an Occupational Therapy Student who consistently demonstrates above average performance in FW; displays outstanding interpersonal skills and contributes to the fieldwork site by applying and integrating classroom learning. The excellence in FW Award is presented to: Peyton Porch & Carmelina Tringali From Kathy Hughes Butcher, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator: When I contacted both Peyton & Carmelina last year in the middle of the pan...demic to discuss their first level II fieldwork placements, I was not sure what their reaction was going to beI was offering them an opportunity to work with a very challenging population in a partial inpatient program for children and adolescents with severe psychological and behavioral challenges at a site that didn’t offer OT services. Peyton & Carm whole-heartedly embraced this opportunity from the start, ran with it, and never looked back. Within the first week of fieldwork, they educated everyone they could get to listen about OT and why it was so needed at this site. More importantly, they also took every opportunity to show everyone why OT was so valuable. These ladies surveyed the site and claimed their space for the OT room. They created a treatment environment that met the various needs of their student/clients. They consulted with the teachers, staff, and administration. They became strong advocates for the needs of their student/clients. Both their OT fieldwork educator and site supervisor were struck by Peyton’s & Carmelina’s compassion for their students & the staff as well as their strong self-initiative and passion for their work. Peyton & Carmelina had an exceedingly positive and enduring impact on everyone who was part of their fieldwork experience. They are both well-deserving of this award. Congratulations ladies! #MUOTproud

Maura Lundy and Maddie Carlo claimed victory by convincing the jury that Cognitive Behavioral was the best approach to address our client with mental health difficulties.
