This article certainly reflects our experience over the last week. We’ve been working hard to respond to requests from our clients who are health care professionals and those of our clients most vulnerable to the coronavirus. We are available to consult via telephone, Skype or FaceTime, and can oversee the signing of documents while maintaining social distancing guidelines. Be safe!!!
On March 16, 2020, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court declared a general, statewide judicial emergency. On March 17, 2020 Lancaster County made a Declaration of Judicial Emergency in an attempt to follow the recommendations of the CDC regarding COVID-19. We represent clients in Lancaster and the surrounding counties and all non-emergency court proceedings in these counties have been suspended for at least the next two weeks, and it appears that the Lancaster County Courthouse w...ill remain closed until April 15. If you have any questions, please contact us so we can provide you with an update about your particular upcoming court proceeding. In an attempt to minimize risk to our employees and clients, moving forward we will be minimally staffed and / or working remotely. The best way to communicate with our attorneys and staff is through e-mail, but you may also call our main switchboard and dial through to speak to or leave a message for the person you are trying to reach. If your matter is deemed to be emergency in nature, it will be handled either by telephone, videoconferencing or in person when there is no other alternative. However, if it is not deemed an emergency proceeding, all proceedings are cancelled and will be rescheduled. The Lancaster County courthouse and all Magisterial District Courts will be closed to the public until April 15, 2020, 8:00 am. Other Counties have ordered similar closings. We can provide you with details. However, as with all closings, re-evaluation may be conducted as deemed necessary. Contact us so that you can be advised as to whether your proceeding is an emergency one and if not, what is the projected outlook and timeline. Moving forward, we will do our best to keep you informed.
In anticipation of Valentine’s Day
