Proud to be a part of this project with Illinois Department of Transportation, and excited to see the bridge open! M&M provided the preliminary and final design services for the rehabilitation of this landmark structure in Peoria, IL.
M&M's Texas Regional Director John Holt was recently featured in American Institute of Steel Construction's Modern Steel Construction with colleagues from the Texas Department of Transportation and The University of Texas at Austin discussing a recent research project they completed that evaluated system redundancy in steel twin-tub girder bridges. Check out the October 2020 issue to learn more about results of the study and the new simplified method for evaluating system redundancy that has been added to the state’s bridge design policy.
Today is the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Harpers Ferry Bridge. The design for this replacement project had a range of considerations including the bridge’s social and economic impact on the surrounding community, the National Historic Park, the Appalachian Trail, recreational users of the river, and the traveling public. Meet #MyModjeski Senior Project Manager Lee Lentz. He got into the doors of Modjeski and Masters through a connection at his local church, but it was the work and the team that kept him here. He was drawn to how projects took him through over a hundred years of history of steel fabrication and machine design practices and how everyone’s primary focus was working in the most ethical way. We hire bright and creative employees, and the underlying drive for all we do here is do...ing the right thing. As challenges arise, they are typically unique circumstances that have never been encountered before. However, drawing on other emergencies or similar time constraints from experience, our teams respond quickly and with confidence and are able to plan more quickly than most firms. M&M chose me, and I am sure happy they did. We’re grateful you chose us back, Lee. Our team wouldn’t be the same without you!
Here at Modjeski and Masters, we pride ourselves on being entirely employee-owned. That means our employees aren’t just our workers, but our partners. We want to take a moment to commemorate all of the people who helped transform the company over the years. Here’s a look at some of the key milestones on the road to employee ownership at Modjeski and Masters. #EmployeeOwnershipMonth #MyModjeski #EOMESOP #ESOP2020 #ESOPtober

Excited to be part of the rehabilitation team for this important Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) project.
This is #MyModjeski Senior Project Manager Cullen Ledet. His fascination with bridges started with his daily commute to high school, traveling on the Crescent City Connection over the Mississippi River. There were many different types of structures on the main bridge and approach spans. The interest followed him to college and the rest was history. I enjoy the challenging projects that clients seem to send to M&M. We never shy away from these types of projects and we remain a go-to firm that thrives on providing solutions to complex problems. Thankful for all you do here, Cullen!
Our inspectors are hard at work inspecting the Michigan Department of Transportation Blue Water Bridge on this beautiful October day. Using technical and rope access techniques, they can access any structural component.
M&M's Kevin Johns and Tom Murphy were recently featured in Structure Magazine discussing the impact of flooding on bridge design and construction. Check out the October 2020 issue to learn more about the team's expertise in mitigating flood damage to bridges, especially in light of the current hurricane season.
