Snow in Philly in December? 2020 has thrown us another curve ball with plenty of snow and ice Philly doesn’t get a ton of this weather so I wanted to take the opportunity to share some snow tips for Philly homeowners Tip No. 1: No savesies ! This is always hotly contested lol. Shoveled snow ends up in street parking which means parking gets rough. But that doesn’t mean you can drag out the traffic cones to save your spot. First come, first serve! Tip No. 2: Shovel ...and de-ice your porch, stoop, and sidewalk ASAP. You’re responsible for your property so if someone slips and falls on your icy sidewalk, you’d be considered at fault Tip No. 3: Check in on your neighbors. Shoveling a neighbor’s sidewalk or dusting off their car is an act of kindness that goes a long way and helps keep the whole neighborhood safe What are your snow tips and tricks? #queerrealtor #queerphilly #lgbtqrealtor #lgbtqphilly #phillysnow #gayrealtor #snowycity #phillyqueers #pittielove #homeownertips

1st night of Hanukkah with Monica! . Last year, I was mostly alone when I celebrated Hanukkah. It was the toughest year of my life, but 2020 is really giving it a run for its money. This year there is darkness in other ways. But there is still light, and I’m thankful to be able to see it and choose it. Sending you all love & light this holiday season ... . #hanukkahwithmonica #hanukkah2020 #queerrealtor #queerphilly #phillyqueers #jewishqueers #veganjew #lgbtqrealtor #gayrealtor #lgbtqphilly #phillyrealestate #phillyrealtor See more

This is a self care reminder for everyone who is anxious, angry, sad, or feeling hopeless. With the election looming, our city in an appropriate uproar, and many of our human rights hanging in the balance, we must surround ourselves with people who see us and celebrate us. We have to continue doing the things we love, the things that help us recharge and self-soothe, so we can fight on. Reconnecting with nature, especially the smell of crunchy leaves and mountain air, is one of my favorite ways to rest and recharge. So here's your reminder to take a bit of time today, and every day, to focus on taking care of yourself, however that looks for you. #queerrealtor #queerphilly #lgbtqrealtor #lgbtqphilly #gayrealtor #queerswhohike #kancamagushighway #whitemountainsnh

My partner calls me a plant zaddy but if you asked me in January if I had a green thumb, I would have laughed! After my marriage ended and I found myself alone in my apartment, I felt like I needed something to brighten and liven up my space. I had never cared for plants before but it was something I wanted to try. Little did I know that when I stopped at @urbanjunglephilly to buy my first plants all those months ago that I would be starting the journey of caring for and heal...ing myself, too. After feeling hurt and vulnerable, it was cathartic to put in so much time, research, and energy into something and seeing it thrive. But with every watering and pruning I was also tending to my own needs and giving myself the space and time to grow and transform into who I am today. I may have lost some branches and leaves, but I've kept my roots and I know now that there is always the chance for new growth & beginnings . #queerrealtor #queerphilly #lgbtqphilly #gayrealtor #plantzaddy #phillyqueers #croton #snakeplant #snakeplantsofinstagram

On this National Coming Out Day, I want to acknowledge that coming out isn't a one-and-done experience. LGBTQ+ folks have to come out every single day and also have to make the decision whether coming out is a safe option in any given circumstance. This is why, when I went into real estate, it was so important for me to proudly call myself a queer realtor. Buying or selling a home is a very personal experience and determining whether it's safe to come out to your realtor shou...ld not be part of the process. I want everyone I interact with to know that they are safe with me and that I use my voice in the real estate industry to educate and advocate for our community. I hope one day that coming out won't even be a thing, but until then I'll keep doing my part and continue to live out and proud as a queer non-binary realtor . #QueerRealtor #GayRealtor #PhillyRealtor #NationalComingOutDay2020 #QueerPhilly #PhillyQueer #NonbinaryFashion #MasculineOfCenter See more

All smiles at the top of Hawk Mountain because this was taken *before* the most challenging tactical hike of my life! The River of Rocks Trail claimed to be moderate...lol no. It was 90% rocks and took a lot of time and patience to complete. But even with all that, this was the mental health boost I needed. Being out in nature, airplane mode on, always gives me a clear head and calms my anxiety and I’m so glad I took the time to make it a priority. If you’re a hiker, I’d love to know your favorite trail. Or the hardest hike you’ve been on. Or both! September settlements . Congratulations to my clients who closed on their new homes this month! Each transaction comes with its own challenges and COVID-19 has certainly added even more into the mix. Not to mention that we're in a seller's market where buying a home can get pretty competitive! But even with all of those hurdles, it's still entirely possible to find and move into the home of your dreams if you have the right realtor Have any questions about buying during a pandemic or in a seller's market? Do you wish to know your future? If you asked me a year ago I would have said yes, without a doubt. For me, change seems to come in waves and this time last year was a doozy. I lost my grandmother, a second parent to me, very suddenly and it destroyed me. My marriage was dissolving and I didn't know whether to hold tighter or let go. It felt like the lowest time in my life and I clung to my work just to make it through another day. I felt like I was on the precipice of upe...nding my entire life and I didn't know what the future would look like. But I knew I wanted to find out. I hoped that it would get better. And it did. So here's a reminder to everyone struggling right now, to everyone who feels like they're at their lowest of lows, that it will get better. We just have to keep going. Instagram vs Reality The last several weeks have been the busiest of my entire real estate career. I've been working non-stop and it's paying off, but I could feel the balance of work and self-care tipping in one direction. So I planned a day trip to the beach where I could unplug and relax but real estate had other plans . My listing ended up going under contract (yay!) and I had to write two offers so I had no choice but to bring my laptop to the beach and work when I cou...ld. The real estate biz ebbs and flows and you just gotta go with it. This is only a snippet of the behind the scenes life of a realtor. I love what I do. It keeps me on my toes and it never gets old since each client and home are different. But it also requires intense awareness of work/life balance, stress management and active self care. Which, to be honest, is an area where I could use a little help. Pls drop me your best work/life balance and self care tips below so I can celebrate these big wins from the past month! #Phillyrealtor #queerrealtor #realtorlife #worklifebalance #queerphilly #asburypark

Swipe for a porch transformation! . These are the only before and after photos I wanna see! Anyone else love painting their home? I've been painting my living space basically since middle school and it's one of the quickest and affordable ways to brighten up your space. If you're a renter like me, you might think that you can't paint your space but that's not always the case. Many landlords will let you paint and even cover the cost of materials because it benefits them in ...the long run. And you get to have a refreshed room or outdoor area to enjoy while you're there! Our homes are sacred spaces and I always try to take care of my apartment, inside and out, even if it's not mine forever. These spaces influence every part of our lives- our sleep, stress levels, ability to work and relax- and we should put in effort to make them as comfortable and vibrant as possible . Date night views Thinking of fun date ideas that also feel safe during a pandemic is tough. But when I saw @bok_bar was reopening, I knew it would be a great open-air spot and they did a great job with keeping everyone socially distant. Big congrats to Andrea who bought her first home yesterday! She was in the right place at the right time and scored an amazing deal on a beautiful home in Grays Ferry. Today I’m celebrating two years in real estate! What a journey it’s been learning and growing as a person and a realtor in this industry. A year ago, it felt like everything in my life was falling apart except for my career. Focusing on helping people from all walks of life find their perfect homes gave me purpose and direction as I stitched my life back together. Even through a pandemic and months of uncertainty, I knew this was what I was meant to do. This context feels so ...important as I look back on the last year. In my second year, I helped 16 households buy/sell a home, 37 households find an apartment, and I’m currently working on an upcoming listing in South Philly! Sneak peek coming soon . I’ve learned so many hard lessons and made wonderful memories this year and I’m forever grateful to have @shemovesphilly by my side every step of the way. Truly couldn’t ask for a better team. Thank you to all my clients and friends who entrusted me with the biggest transaction of their lives. Love y’all. Here’s hoping that year 3 is even bigger and better! Let me know how I can assist you on your journey to a new home. Shoot me a text or DM and we’ll get this party started . #monicamovesphilly #countonKramer #queerrealtor #queerphilly #lgbtqrealtor #phillyrealestate #masculineofcenter
