Contented Pastor Ron Hott Contented is not a word you hear used very often these days. However, contentment is what everyone strives for in everyday life. The problem is that many people are looking in the wrong places and for the wrong things to provide true contentment. For the Christian, we don’t find genuine contentment in accumulating possessions on earth that we will later leave behind when we die. For the Believer, contentment is found in what we send on ahead that ...will be there for eternity, according to Matthew 6:19, Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. Real contentment is having the assurance that God loves you unconditionally, enough so, that we are the only thing in all of creation created in His likeness and image. We are the only thing in all of His creation that He was willing to have His Son, Jesus Christ, die for. Romans 8:37-39, Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We will never find true contentment until we are willing to surrender everything to God, according to Luke 14:33, So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. and Matthew 16:26, For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? It is only when we are truly free of selfish desires that we can be satisfied with the blessings God has given us. This is not because we feel we deserve the blessings, but because God has given them out of His love for us. That is when real, genuine, true contentment comes into our hearts and lives. See more

Pastor Ron Hott June 7, Message of Faith and Hope The message of hope comes from the message of faith according to Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Therefore, if you don’t first have the proper faith, you have no hope. Without faith, all you have is wishful thinking. In the events of the world today, many people have given up on hope in many areas of life: the health system, economy, government (local, state, ...and federal), morality and ethics of human nature, their families, themselves, and most importantly on God. Where should we begin when we start to feel hopeless? There is only one place to begin and that is with God. The psalmist said in both Psalms 42:11 and 43:5, Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Only God can provide the proper pick-me-up from a hopeless state. He promises to give us a new vantage point of hope that is far greater than any problem we could ever face, if we obey Him. According to Psalms 71:14-16, But I will hope continually, and will yet praise Thee more and more. My mouth shall shew forth Thy righteousness and Thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of Thine only. Only God can give you a future that is worth hoping for. Hope is the motivating factor that will help us resist sinful temptations and keep our lives pure and holy before our righteous God. Victory is only possible through continuing faith and obedience to Christ Jesus. How do we put our hope in God? According to Romans 8:24-28, For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. Read your Bible, trust in the promises of God’s Word, and wait patiently for Him to work.

Compromise Pastor Ron Hott May 31, 2020 A question for many people today is, How can we live in today’s culture without compromising our convictions? First, it's important to understand the difference between a conviction and a preference. According to the dictionary conviction is: a strong persuasion or belief; the state of mind of a person who is sure that what he or she believes or says is true. When the individual is so convinced of a matter, they may be willing to giv...Continue reading

Living in harmony. Pastor Ron Hott May 24, 2020 I’ve heard it said, "If you want to make your best friend into your worst enemy, live with them." There is a lot of truth in that statement because we often focus on our differences and not on our similar-ities. Several definitions of the word harmony are in relation to musical examples: the structure of music with respect to the composition and progression of musical chords. There is another definition that refers to the unit...Continue reading

Good Lessons from Hard Times Pastor Ron Hott May 17, 2020 Often the times in our lives when we learn the hardest lessons are times when we feel the most vulnerable or fearful. One definition for fear is: an unpleasant, often strong, emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger, alarm, anxiety, dread, fright, horror, panic, terror, and trepidation. Fear often cascades into: fretting, fussing, stewing, stressing, worrying, and being troubled. Everyone has experienced...Continue reading
