TODAY IS OUR CANNED CORN AND CRANBERRIES FOOD DRIVE! From 9 a.m. to noon, MPS is hosting a canned corn and cranberries drive-thru food drive to support Fr. Mike Allison's Thanksgiving Community Dinner at Calamari's. We are also accepting donations of Little Debbie individually wrapped snacks. Pull your car up to the MPS entrance, 538 East Grandview Blvd., and we'll take your donations from your car. It's that simple! Being a part of the MPS community has been one of my life's most profound blessings as a student, alumna, and now as a staff member. The Mercy Charism is alive and palpable here. Hey Lakers, join us for the Aidan Zaphiris Mack Virtual 3K Run & Walk, November 6-13. Aidan, a Junior at MPS, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in September and the event benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is easy to participate. Follow this link to visit the event page and register to walk or run. On the page, you can also donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and be automatically entered into a drawing for some amazing prizes! Congratulations to MPS Senior Tyler Hansen on passing his board of review and officially becoming an Eagle Scout on October 30. Tyler, a member of Troop 57, built a pair of kayak launches at Eaton Reservoir in North East for his BSA Eagle project. He saw a need for launches because many people enjoy kayaking, and there wasn't a way to get in and out of a kayak without getting wet. Tyler looked at many designs but saw none that would work well with the changing water levels of... the reservoir, so he designed and built these from scratch. While COVID shutdowns in March delayed the assembly of the launches, Tyler was able to complete them before the end of summer. The launches were made possible by the generous donations of money and expertise from the Knights of Columbus - Council 4262 of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church, North East VFW, the Piecuch family, and Dan Burkhart. The leaders and scouts of Troop 57, along with MPS alumnus and Eagle Scout Jake Durmis ’18, also helped in many ways as Tyler completed his project.

It was great to see future Lakers at our Open House on Sunday. Mercyhurst Prep has 30+ clubs and activities, 54 performing and visual arts classes, an excellent athletic program, and three levels of academic concentration. Between 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on the 7th and 14th, drive right up to the MPS front doors and students will take your donations so you won't even have to leave your car.
