Mount Olivet Cemetery 15.11.2020

Mt. Olivet Cemetery will be having a porch sale on their old stock items. They are new, but they are from the last 4 flower flyers. They are the left overs that didn't sell. Never been used, just old stock. There will be bouquets and saddles up for grabs at a good deal. Bouquets normally sell for $35.00, selling them for $21.00. If you don't have vase, we sell bouquet cones for $5.00. Our Saddles normally sell for $45.00, we are selling them for $31.00. We will have fall fl...owers, Christmas flowers and Veteran flowers for sell. We may have a few slighly used wreaths and flowers for sale at a huge discount. Not sure if we have any available to sell, but if we do, they will be even cheaper. They will be located on our porch at the front door of the main house in the cemetery. Come on out and see what we may have. Stock is very limited and we will only be doing this for a week or two, until we have everyting sold. We are open Monday - Friday 9am-3pm. Come on by and see what we have. We are located at 725 Baltimore St. Hanover, PA. 17331

Thank you to all who came out and helped with Wreaths Across America here at Mt Olivet Cemetery. It is a cold, foggy, rainy day, but that didn't stop people from joining in. Our veterans and their loved ones really appreciated it.

Want to thank everyone who came out in this very cold and windy day to work at the Cemetery. We had to flag graves that will be recieving wreaths from Wreaths Across America this Saturday. We were out from 7am-5pm with only a 30 min break for lunch. It was so cold we couldn't feel our faces, fingers or toes. We had to flag 1,526 graves. We got about 3/4 the way done. We will finish Wednesday and Thursday when it's not gonna rain. Thank you, Geary Lehr, Charles Gladfelter, Mih...ail Papuza, and Eric Zumbrum for coming out and helping Jerry Kress and I on this very cold and windy Sunday. Wreaths Across America will be held at Mt Olivet Cemetery 725 Baltimore St. In Hanover this Saturday 12/14 at noon. Rain or Shine. All are welcome and we will need volunteers during through ceremony to lay wreaths. Any questions please feel free to call the Cemetery Mon-Fri 9am-3pm 717-637-5294. Today we received the wreaths for the event Wreaths Across America. Thank you Penntownship Fire departmet for helping unload 119 boxes of wreaths. Each box holds 9 wreaths. That's 1,071 wreaths delivered. We are short about 500 this year. The donations just didn't come in for the wreaths. Penntownship Fire department will try to do something about the shortage. You may want to call or visit their site to find out more info and where you can help or purchase/donate wreaths. The event will be held at the cemetery Saturday 12/14/19 at 12pm. Everyone is welcomed to attend and anyone can help put the wreaths on the graves at the ceremony. The ceremony will be held in the garden of Honor section. You can call the cemetery for more information formation at 717-637-5294. Mon-Fri 9am-3pm.

We have had a great response to our 30% off cleaning and repairing markers. Since the weather has been in the 50s, we can still clean and fix markers before the holidays. Call and ask for a price quote. The sale runs through Dec 31, 2019. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to have your markers cleaned, and fixed while we are having this sale. We are open Mon - Fri 9-3. Stop by or call us at 717-637-5294. We also have flowers for sale in the office. Stop by and take a look at what we have, you may like what we have to offer. Have any questions please give us a call; we'd be glad to help

Just want to thank everyone who volunteer to help at the cemetery today. And I would like to thank all who did come and buy food and play games. All proceeds go to the cemetery. We will draw the Raffles in the morning and if you win, we will call you and arrange when you can come pick them up. Thanks again to all who are involved. Funds for the cemetery are very much needed, and appreciated.

Today was a success for the Veterans Day Program at Mt Olivet Cemetery. It was a beautiful day to have the event. Early this morning before the event, our head groundskeeper Jerry Kress, washed the big "V" in section Honor. Then Jerry Kress and Scott Storm blew all the leaves away from the graves in Honor. Blaine Gladfelter and Steve Redding, did a wonderful job organizing this event. They also lowered and replaced every flag (Military and American flags). A truly beautiful day.
