Supplements and vitamins are something that we all take and shop for, yet so many of us don’t know the first thing about what we need or what to look for in a supplement. While we obviously want you to get your supplements with Binto ... we know that you might shop at other places, from the grocery store to the local pharmacy to an online shop. We’ve been doing a fun little series called inside the vitamin aisle" for a while, and we're starting to expand it! ... Check out the series in our Instagram highlights: https://www.instagram.com/p/CGASGW0jTNR/ Let us know in the comments where we should investigate next.

Our gut health = everything. The gut is our microbiome and the microbiome consists of a defined habitat (the human body) where different species of microorganisms come together and live. Many of these microorganisms are called probiotics. These are the good bacteria that we need to support a healthy microbiome. It may seem crazy that ALL of these pieces of the body relate back to gut health, but it's true. Without healthy gut bacteria (probiotics), we will see a host of issu...es/and symptoms pop up in other systems from our brain to our urinary tract to our endocrine system (hey, hormones), and our digestion (but that one's a little more obvious). The best way to support your gut health? Eat a diversity of plants and try taking a synbiotic. This is a supplement that contains probiotics and prebiotic fiber!

"Will taking a prenatal vitamin before I am actively trying make me get pregnant?" No! Fortunately, or unfortunately for some, taking a prenatal is not a magic pill that will make you conceive. However, it is a good idea to start taking a prenatal vitamin within the year you want to get pregnant, or at least start 3-6 months prior to trying. "Will taking a prenatal supplement while I am still on a birth control decrease the effectiveness?"... No! You can take a prenatal vitamin really any time you're in the childbearing years even if you are on a hormonal form of contraception like the pill. Prenatal vitamins will not decrease its effectiveness.

Ever heard of the term postpartum depletion? We hadn't either until a few years ago. After a female delivers a baby - vaginally or via c-section - the body experiences a massive physiological shift. Postpartum depletion is the idea that after birth, a woman suffers a loss of certain minerals, vitamins, etc as part of the hormonal shift that can lead to many unwanted symptoms and side effects. We all know that after birth, you never go back to your "old self" but that doesn't ...mean you need to suffer physically and mentally for months to years on end. At Binto, our goal for postpartum support is to not only help you restore healthy levels of essential nutrients to keep you balanced but provide open access to providers that care for your needs, not your baby. This time is critical - and you're at the center of it - so why wouldn't we keep our attention on you?
