Today we are highlighting another fabulous Visual Artist, Vania Evangelique!! As a visual artist, Zeal Eva’s work captures feelings of nostalgia, appreciation of the environment present, and a cultivation of safe space through digital and film photographs, painting and illustration. Through various points in her life, Zeal Eva has struggled with showing emotion and expressing vulnerability. It wasn’t until she immersed herself fully into art that she was able to find her voi...ce and connect with those around her. Zeal Eva’s work centers around home, finding safe space, memory mapping, as well as the celebration of blackness. By expressing herself visually, Zeal Eva hopes to foster a sense of joy, discovery, remembrance, and appreciation of the world around us. Check out more of her work on Instagram @zeal_eva!

Are you interested in electric scooters coming to the #HillDistrict? The City of Pittsburgh's Move412 Initiative is proposing the Hill District as a pilot for the next electric scooter partnership with Scoobi. After analyzing a number of factors, DOMI has narrowed down the list of potential Mobility Hub locations to a list of 4. They would like the community's help in letting them know, which spot works best for the Hill District community IF this is desired at all.... These stations would be similar to bike share stations, but with electric scooters. You can check out slides of the proposed site locations below. Give your feedback to the City at: https://engage.pittsburghpa.gov/move/hill-district-move-412. FEEDBACK WILL CLOSE Friday, February 26th!

Check out this feature of Teenie Harris by Damon Young in the The Atlantic’s Inheritance, a project about American history and Black life. This is the legacy in the #HillDistrict that we fight to restore! Another thing you should probably know about Black Pittsburgh’s relationship with Teenie is that those lies tell the truth. How didhow dowe survive in a city considered one of America’s Most Livable but that’s somehow one of the least livable for us? I don’t know. B...ut I do know that community, for Black Pittsburghers, is a proper noun and a shelter from the city. Even if we didn’t actually find our way into his orbit, when Teenie caught one of us, he caught all of us. Read More Here: https://www.theatlantic.com//charles-teenie-harri/617789/
