Originally brought to the stage in 2015, "Sweat" will be presented by the Northampton Community College Theatre Department in February 2022. By Lynn Nottage Directed by Chris Egging... Filled with warm humor and tremendous heart, Sweat tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets, and laughs while working together on the factory floor in Reading, PA. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in a heart-wrenching fight to stay afloat. Nottage won a second Pulitzer Prize for this drama.

Northampton Community College Theatre Department's second production of their season is the 2018 play, "The Burn", coming Nov. 18-21. Audition info coming soon! Written by Philip Dawkins Directed by Bill Mutimer ... When a high school production of The Crucible forces four girls together, tensions escalate into acts of bullying - both online and IRL. The Burn explores the link between the Salem Witch hunts, McCarthyism and Cancel Culture. Here we see what happens to a teacher and his students when a classroom conflict turns into an online witch hunt.

Track the progression of microaggressions to overt acts of racial violence by white Americans against Black Americans, in Northampton Community College Theatre Department's presentation of "Citizen: An American Lyric".
