Learn Needle Tatting by Barbara Foster is available at handyhands.com It offers a kit with the needle and threader plus the book. I taught myself in a hotel room after buying the supplies (size 10 thread is what to start with, the kind that's used for crocheting. It took me less than 2 hours to learn the very easy technique which is actually "knit and purl" on a needle with some variations which are very easy to learn. I have shuttles but this method of tatting is so easy and you can undo your mistakes without having to start all over on a project (can't do that with a shuttle). It is an inexpensive craft that will give you oodles of projects to keep you busy all winter long! Well, I do it all year long ~ haha!

Tatting 50 snowflakes for our family and all of Dave's customers at Christmas (2017 customers, that is). Have to starch them, create the Christmas card and sew the flakes to the front of each card. We appreciate our family and our customers!

This week I mowed down a mailbox on my way home from my Mom's house. I fell asleep at the wheel (didn't sleep well the night before). A very short and expensive "nap". $3500 in damage to our car and a mailbox that needed replaced. Three miracles: (1) I didn't get hurt, (2) the family dog that always lays down by the mailbox during the day didn't lay there that day, (3) the neighbor who came over when I hit the mailbox asked my husband (when he drove down to make sure everythi...ng was taken care of properly) was asked who the older woman was who was with me when I hit the mailbox. Dave said that there hadn't been anyone with me driving home that afternoon. She asked him the same question 4 times. Dave asked me if anyone else was at the scene when I spoke to the owner of the mailbox. No one at all I said. I didn't see anyone else but the homeowner and her neighbor. Was an angel watching over me that afternoon? Hmmmm...... See more
