#NTVProductPlacementWeek presents this #NTVMomentOfZen from hilarious 1988 schlock-fest "Return of the Killer Tomatoes!" This brilliantly self-aware scene lampoons why and how product placement sneaks its way (sometimes not so subtly) into your favorite movies.
#NTVPresents says #HappyBirthdayJudyGarland with this strange little video clip, where we made the apple trees from "The Wizard of Oz" a bit more disturbing by giving them the voice of Freddy Krueger. Please note: "The Wizard of Oz" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street" are owned by Warner Bros, and no claim is made upon them. This clip is a derivative parodic work.
We never knew Prince Eric’s last name was Samberg.
Today’s #NTVComingDistractions gives us a double feature of teenage rebellion with Rock 'n' Roll High School & Rock 'n' Roll High School Forever. 1979’s Rock 'n' Roll High School starred PJ Soles as rock-and-roller Riff Randall, who absolutely adores The Ramones. With Mary Woronov as a dictatorial high school principal, it famously ends with the school blowing up. Its sequel, Rock 'n' Roll High School Forever, retains Mary Woronov, but replaces PJ Soles with Corey Feldman as the rebellious rocker out to destroy the foundations of the principal’s iron fist.
Had to share. So cute. So evil.
Today’s #NTVComingDistractions starts #NTVProductPlacementWeek with a film known for some of the most egregious and blatant in-film advertising: 1988’s Mac and Me. Featuring heavy-handed sponsorship from Coca-Cola, Skittles, and Sears Department Stores, the most unrepentant piece of advertising in the movie is its extended dance sequence held in a McDonald’s (with guest appearance by Ronald McDonald). It’s received a recent boost in its cult following courtesy of its inclusion in an MST3K marathon.
Looks like Chaney ‘Lon’-ched into the wrong character...
Makes you kinda think about Moby Dick. #TharSheBlows #FreeWilly
Today #NTVReverses and #NTVSupercuts DIE HARD (1988)! Yippee-ki-yay, Mister Falcon!
Sad news, folks. Another great thespian gone...
Surprisingly, this album does not include a cover of I Want Candy
We love old cartoons, because they have some much kitsch and charm. So, to finish #NTVSuperheroWeek, #NTVFlashback offers a montage of Marvel and DC superhero cartoon intros from the ‘66/‘67 era. From Spider-Man to Superman, several iconic animated versions of many of our favorite heroes made their TV debut during that golden age of cartoons. Edit: due to Copyright issues, part of the video is muted. Next time, maybe we should just poorly sing the theme songs
