Maps of North Lehigh Avenue showing growth from 1912, 1921, and 1928. The maps are from the Sanborn Fire Company drawings that were created for insurance purpos...es. Notice the location for the Victoria Theater was vacant in 1912 but was operational in 1921. It's interesting to see the hotels, banks, etc. over the years. I have a PDF with layers that show the downtown area from Spring to Oak and Balliet to Railroad. You can turn layers on or off and see the development over a 30 year period from 1898 to 1928. I'm trying to find a way to upload so you can download and view with a PDF viewer. It will open with a layers panel and when the + sign is expand layers for each year are clickable. I think it will end up in the files section but haven't tried it yet. Stand by.
