Did you know September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month? Burke Brothers is proud to support the CHOP Parkway Run through Team Sara’s Smiles https://chop.dono...rdrive.com/team/8182. Sara Kate Burke, daughter of Kevin and Jen Burke, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2007. She endured countless tests, surgeries, and procedures during her seven month stay at CHOP. Tragically, in May of 2008 Sara lost her courageous battle with cancer. Sara's Smiles Foundation - Lift the Cloud, Inspire the Joy (www.saras-smiles.org) is a designated 501(c)(3) organization, was created by Sara’s family to carry on her memory, spirit, and legacy of hope, determination, and cheer. Sara made many, many happy memories in the hospital and this was the primary inspiration for the foundation. The mission of Sara’s Smiles is to help create a warmer, more positive, more empowered experience for children diagnosed with cancer. This is the 11th year of Team Sara’s Smiles participating in the CHOP Parkway Run, where every penny goes to the research conducted at CHOP!
