In 2019, we introduced three new group awards - the Entertainment Award, a High Score award for ages 8-9 and under, and an award for Technical Excellence. Those winners this past weekend at Splitrock Resort in the Poconos were; students from the Elite Dance Company dance group Koko Puffs were the recipients of the Entertainment Award, the High Score Mini Group was Star Shine from Tracey’s Academy of Dance, and the award for Technical Excellence went to Radiance from the Elite Dance Company. Congratulations to all schools on a successful competition weekend.

The Photogenic Title winner from our recent April 2021 competition event at Splitrock Resort was Addison Wyochock. First place award winners were; Josiah Duran (ages 3-5), Lilianna Sikiekas (6-7), Addison Wyochack* (8-9), Natalie Schreffler (10-12), Ella Jenkins (13-15), Madisyn Lutz (16-19) and Michaela Replogle (20+). High Score Trio winners from our recent April 2021 competition event at Splitrock Resort were: In the Junior division- 3rd place high score trio was Mikenzie Stockunas, Karlie Baran & Lilliana Siliekas, 2nd place was Mia Pasten, Emily Hollenback & Noelle Steinbauer, and the 1st place highest scoring junior trio of the competition went to Hailey Rojas, Savannah Romero and Yacheliez Romero. In the Senior division- , 3rd place high score trio went to Kaylin Zelinski, Hailey Patts & Jessica Atkinson, 2nd place to Olivia Russel, Daniella Granahan & Isabella Diana and the 1st place highest scoring senior trio went to Kaylin Zelinski, Bailey Zelinski & Carly Kappler. In the Senior division- , 3rd place high score duo went to Tyler Macleod & Caylee Swinger, 2nd place to Bailey Zelinski & Kaylin Zelinski and the 1st place highest scoring senior duo went to Bobbi Rose Smith & Lucia Dudziek. Category high score winners from our April 2021 competition event this past weekend at Splitrock Resort were; Sydnee Bowers (Acro), Tyler Macleod & Caylee Swinger (Ballet), Bailey Zelinksi, Kaylin Zelinski, Carly Kappler (Open, Tap), Kaylin Zelinski (Ethnic), Lexi Berecin (Modern, Pantomime, Lyrical), Angelina Ramos (Jazz), Nicole Sanchez (Hip Hop), Hannah Fox & Kelley Zimmerman (Vocal), Savannah Romero (Pointe), Hailey Rojas, Daniella Granahan - tie (Contemporary). All high score recipients received a special trophy and will also receive a certificate of excellence. Congratulations!

This weekend would have marked our November 2020 competition event at Splitrock. My staff and I are missing the weekends events as much as you all are. Because our competition brings in so many from other areas and states, I just felt it was in everyone’s best interest to not bring you all together at this time. Truly, your health and safety is our priority. Looking ahead - with cautious optimism - our 2021 competition dates are; April 23-25... November 12-14 Splitrock will begin taking room reservations on Tuesday, December 1st for both of our spring and fall 2021 dates. When making room reservations, use the hotel's direct number 570-722-9111, press 1 for reservations. Be sure to mention Northeast Performing Arts for the group rate. I take pride in being the most economical competition on the east coast as we offer the lowest priced registration fees available. With that in mind, there will be no price increases as we head into 2021. We will continue to offer a complimentary Master Class for all contestants the morning of awards. I continue to keep the studio owners and my small business friends in my thoughts each day. I hope your students continue to return, I hope you all prosper and continue to find some normalcy in these challenging times. I’m hopeful for a 2021 that will offer more opportunities to those dancers and performers who are missing out on so much this past year. With love and good thoughts to you all.
