We just got more information from the school district. If your children do not already have one, they will be bringing home a paper tonight with their schedule and their passwords on it. We will need a copy for EVERY child that is doing their schooling here. Without them, there is no way for us to help them.

We are doing our best to get everything ready for the school kids to have a virtual learning area at the center. We need to create a place where they can learn and be Covid safe at the same time. It is hard to do with one day's notice. We will be ready tomorrow to start. We have ordered some equipment so that we can enhance their learning are and that will not be ready till next week. This week will be sufficient but plans are in place to make it awesome. The school distric...t has been very responsive to our questions and are working with us to bring the technology here that will work best. What we need to know is just how many of our clients we are setting up for. We have heard from some of you but we need to get everyone to let us know so we can give the numbers to the school district. PLEASE let us know under the comments here or call us and let us know if your school age child will be attending during the school district shut down. Throughout this we want our clients to know we are still planning on continuing on with preschool classes. Parents have voiced their concerns about health and safety since another center in town needed to close down for two weeks. We want to reassure you that we have not slowed down on our safety procedures since we opened back up in May. Our staff still ALL wear mask all the time. We are doing everything possible to keep the kids safe. That being said, we normally have parents bring in items for our Thanksgiving Feast. This year we ordered the whole meal in. We felt that was the best way to handle it. Our feast will be held on Tuesday, November 24th. We would love it if the kids that are not normally here for lunch could stay and have lunch with us that day. The preschool only kids can just stay later that day. We should be completely done by 12:30. PLEASE let us know if you have any questions.

After a lot of thought, we have decided to push back the start date of Preschool classes to September 9th. We are going to need a full week to change over from our summer kids to our preschool kids due to Covid 19. The 4-yr-olds will have preschool from 9:00 to 11:00 Monday thru Friday. The 3-year-olds will have preschool from 9:00 to 11:00 on Tues., Weds., and Thurs.

We have been going over our number for fall and we will limited have openings in both our three and four year old PRESCHOOL ONLY and DAY CARE/PRESCHOOL classes. We are taking a very limited number of school age children that are not going back to traditional school. Atlantic Broadband has an outage on our street. We have no phone or internet. We are using our personal phones to communicate. Please contact us on here to let us know if something comes up. We may not see it right away because we need to be by a window to get a signal.

Just a reminder. We are following PA Health Department guidelines on quarantines following visits to the following states. You are NOT ABLE TO ATTEND DAY CARE for 14 days if you have traveled to any of the following places. Alabama Arizona Arkansas California ... Florida Georgia Idaho Louisiana Mississippi Nevada North Carolina South Carolina Tennessee Texas Utah Delaware Iowa Kansas Oklahoma This rule comes from PA Department of Health and we must abide by their standards in order to keep our license in good standing. There can be NO EXCEPTIONS.

Today we got another update from the OCDEL on new operating standards for day care licensing. We need to have all new policies in place by Friday, July 17. All of the parents will receive a written copy of them as soon as they are done. There are some additional restrictions put in place. Some points that need addressed immediately are as follows: No cloth toys allowed in the center. Blankets can only be at nap time... Toys that come in must be able to be wiped down with a sanitizing cleaner. We have to follow the Pennsylvania State mandatory quarantine guidelines. That means if your family travels to one of the following states, they can not return to day care until 14 days after they get home. Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. This list may change on a regular basis. If you are planning on traveling, please go to https://www.health.pa.gov//coronavirus/Pages/Travelers.aspx to get the latest updates. Please understand that if you agree or disagree with these things, in order to stay open, we must comply. This is what we were told by the licensing agency: Effective July 17, 2020, child care certification representatives will cite child care programs operating out of compliance with the previously described Critical Elements derived from CDC guidance. The citations for items 1-4 will be issued under 3270.21, 3280.20, and 3290.18, all pertaining to general health and safety. Child care programs failing to comply with acceptable plans of correction, may be subject to further action that impacts the child care programs’ Certificate of Compliance, ability to continue to operate, and eligibility for distributions of supplemental financial supports. We have always worked to meet or exceed the state regulations. We intend to do the same with these. Your children’s health and wellbeing means everything to us.
