A tribute to our member Todd Slater who passed away yesterday. You may have known him as "Mayor". The Mayor knew where just about every road in the county was. If you have a memory of Todd please share it in the comments.

A wonderful heartfelt tribute to an amazing friend, father, and outstanding member of our department, the rodeo, and the community!!

North Washington VFD 04.07.2020

The North Washington Volunteer Fire Department and the North Washington Rodeo Committee are mourning the loss of one of our own tonight. Mr. Bill Slater was the Vice President of the NWVFD and served on the Rodeo committee for many years. He was an active member of the North Washington community and in the world of rodeo. Bill touched the lives of countless cowboys and cowgirls throughout his lifetime and will be so greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing ...him. Bill's love of rodeo was almost as endless as his love of family. If you had the opportunity to know him, you knew Bill cherished the relationship he had with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Our prayers go out to the entire Slater family. The North Washington Rodeo won't be the same without him behind the chutes. Rest in peace our dear friend; until we meet again. See more

Dear Butler County! Our office will continuously monitor the weather situation all weekend and with that being said, we do not set up cooling stations per say. ... Any public building such as libraries, malls, grocery stores etc. are considered COOLING CENTERS. Some of our fire departments may open their doors also and we will keep that list updated as we are notified. If we as Butler County incur a major power outage and we have multiple municipal requests/needs, then we will engage with the American Red Cross and other resources to open up a shelter or shelters if warranted and implement our emergency operation plans.
