On 07/16/19 at approximately 9:36 PM, our officers were dispatched to 19 Railroad Ave, in Eldred Borough for the report of an assault. Upon arrival on scene the parties were separated, and interviewed by both officers. Eldred Borough ambulance was dispatched to the scene to evaluate and transport the victim. Through investigation, it was determined that the actor, punched the victim several times after a verbal argument. Both parties were evaluated on scene by Eldred Borough ...EMS. The victim, was transported to UPMC Cole for further evaluation, and the actor was taken into custody by Otto Eldred Regional Police Department. The actor was identified as John BLACKWELL III, and after being arraigned before District Judge Cercone, he was committed to the McKean County Jail. On 07/12/19 at approximately 6:02 PM, our officers were dispatched to Main Street and Fitzsimmons Street, in Duke Center for a female who had been stabbed. During the call, the male individual stated his wife was fighting with another party and was stabbed. Once this information was obtained the call disconnected. One of our officers arrived on scene within minutes, and began canvasing the area. Foster Township Police, Smethport Police, Port Allegany Police and other Officers... from Otto-Eldred, as well as State Police Lewis Run were dispatched to the scene to assist and arrived on scene shortly after. Bradford Regional Medical Center and Olean General were notified as a precaution. An ambulance out of Bradford was placed on standby as well as Mercy Flight, while officers canvased the area and known addresses of the individuals in an attempt to locate them. Members of the Otto Township Volunteer Fire Department also assisted in attempting to locate the individuals utilizing an atv in the woods. After canvasing the area, and searching the known addresses of the caller and the victim, it was discovered that the call was a hoax. The alleged victim and caller were in another state when this incident occurred. This incident is being investigated further by this department. This department would like to thank the McKean County 911 Center, and all of the departments that assisted, as well as nearby residents and Fire Department members.
