It is bittersweet that we send this news to you today that we have sold the park as of December 1. When we purchased the campground in 2005, we thought we would... keep it for a couple of years, paint the buildings, clean up the grounds and then sell it so we could do another business. But, we fell in love with the camping business---the guests, their families, their pets, their joys and heartbreaks, their kids learning to ride a bike on the trail, the beautiful river...the list goes on. Here we are 16 seasons later as the 2020 KOA Campground of the Year! The park has physically doubled in size. Eleven cabins. And, every inch is renovated or brand new. It is amazing for us to look back and remember all the digging, cleaning, painting---worrying. We say now we didn't know enough about camping or renovations to realize how hard it would be! We just kept going. (Youth had a little to do with that resilience, too!) None of what we accomplished over the years would have been possible without our team. Many times that team included guests like you who pitched in to help me and Denise's dad Denny chainsaw giant logs, give us guidance and references for contractors and projects, and sometimes just as someone who gave a kind word to keep us going. We thank you sincerely and remember your kindnesses (and your hard work!). A special "thank you" to Denise's mom and dad--Denny and Helen. They were there through every season with every move of the front desk, Duct tape and Helen's paint brush (she is the only one is 16 seasons who was permitted to paint!). Staff. Oh, the stories we have! A seasonal business gifted us with the opportunity to work with new team members every year. Some lasted a week, some have lasted ten or more years. Each season, we have been truly blessed to have a team committed to our vision, every crazy idea we had and to our endless lists! In the 2021 season, you will surely see familiar faces from the 2020 team providing excellent guest services, sparkling clean facilities and beautiful grounds. The team will be supported and lead by a very experienced management company and super new owners with exciting ideas for continued improvements. We can't wait to hear about all of their projects coming to life! The future. Denise and I are moving to Florida and starting a franchise consulting business. We have enough land for me to dig and plant. And, Denise has the pool and cantina to take care of! I don't know that we realize yet just how much we will miss our guests and team. When we missed all of our own Summer picnics and events, we had you to step in as our "family". We wish you only the best and sincerely thank you for sharing your family with us over the years. We cherish the memories we made and witnessed you making with your camping family. Sincerely, Denise & Deene Yenchochic
