Welcome to Providence Acres Farm 2018. The 2018 growing season has been thus far very difficult for farmers who grow their crops in the field. We have had heavy rains that prevented us from working the ground, then washed out our plantings.and plastic mulch. We thank the Lord for answering our prayers, as the predicted thunderstorms and heavy down pours did not happen yesterday. Lord willing we can get back to planting later today. We do have corn, strawberries, sweet potat...oes, string beans, cucumbers, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, summer squash, winter squash and melons planted, but they need sun to grow, which we hope the Lord will provide. We are harvesting garlic scapes and It looks like we will have a good crop of apples this season. The following link will give you 10 recopies for using garlic scapes, which we will have available at the Somerset County Farmers Market this Saturday. https://www.bonappetit.com//ingredie/article/garlic-scapes We will post more news and photos in the near future. #Organic_Grower #Certified_Naturally_Grown #CSA #Farmers_Markets #Somerset_County_Farmers_Market

The last of our kids born for Spring 2016. The Mom was a first time Mom and my Dad, Ray, found them cold and not nursing. So he brought them into the house and got them warmed up in the sun by our front door. This was a week roughly before our dog Bella had her pups and she was feeling motherly. In the video she was showing her teeth to Finley, our male dog, because he was took close to them. The Nanny goat was great in accepting the babies back (not always the case) after we had them in the house for 6-8 hours. The poor thing was hoarse from crying for them. Now everybody is happy and the kids are getting big.
