If you are visiting Cook Forest soon, this is a great time to see eagles since most of the leaves are down. This pair of juveniles were at the Cook Forest Canoe Launch (4-mile). Signed, Mr. Pale Whale

Good morning! Here are a few snowy shots from yesterday. It was snowing just hard enough to make it difficult to get decent pictures. However, we spotted a couple female hooded mergansers in a flock of common mergansers in the picnic area along with about five female buffleheads across the river from our dock so we thought we would share. Have a wonderful day! Signed, Mr. Pale Whale

Please spread the word! Miko was LOST on December 2, 2020 in Cooksburg, PA 16217 near River road and Greenwood Message from Owner: Please keep an eye out for Mi...ko, he got loose when people were loading the car and chased after a deer. He is presumed to be in the woods by Cook Forest in Cooksburg, PA. He is very imprinted on me and could be crying as he doesn't bark much. He has a strong natural instinct and will be able to survive in the woods. Please keep on the lookout for anyone with a found or new husky and compare with this picture. Please do not accuse people online without proof there are many Huskies that look like Miko. HE IS AVID MICROCHIPPED! We are trying everything to get him home safe for the Holidays if you could please share and get him back with his pack. Description: White and Black Husky, Has blue eyes, two black streaks on the left (his right), black mask, black collar on, Seresto flea/tick collar, Very friendly but might be skiddish if seen For more info or to contact Miko's owner, click here: https://www.pawboost.com/p/6660729 Lost or found a pet? Good morning! It's #WildlifeWednesday so let's play a game of Where's Waldo. There is an animal in this picture ... let's see how fast you can find it. Comment that you found it but don't say what it is at least for a little while. We've had some beautiful weather but we are also enjoying the rain today. Signed, Mr. Pale Whale

Apparently this event is already full due to COVID restrictions. Our sincerest apologies if it upset anyone that we shared the post. Good morning Cook Forest! The red squirrel in this picture was not happy about the gray squirrel sharing his white pine. Be sure to take a little time to sit still and enjoy nature when you are visiting the forest. Signed, Mr. Pale Whale
